Hello,

I am starting a multiple module campaign mod for Neverwinter Nights 2. The mod is going to be called “The Legends of Algora” and will bring an entirely new storyline to the Neverwinter Nights 2 engine. I am planning on including voice acting, multiple companion characters, as well as love interests for both male and female players. Right now, the entire story for the mod has been completed and some of the modules are already being worked on. As this is a pretty large mod, I am looking for some people who would like to join in on the project. Here is a little background on the story and the world.

Algora is a unique world in that it has no relation to the Neverwinter Nights storyline. The world is moderately sized and is made of three major areas: Tanria, Badrea, and Bria. In these areas, there are many towns and cities. The major cities are Aurendale, Charlton, Bellview, Al’Jasar, and Whitestone.

A thousand years prior to the time the mod takes place, a major threat was sweeping through the lands of Algora. A race called the Kin’Dar, which prior to this time had kept mostly to themselves, had just welcomed a new king, or Archlord, as they call it. Archlord Nalrasa had just come into power, and after ruling for a few years, he declared himself a god. The quiet race known as the Kin’Dar was now renamed to “The Sacred”. Nalrasa commanded that the rest of the world surrender to his rule, and adopt his new religion, but when the people resisted this, he declared war in an effort to take power by force. He gathered a large army that went through the land, taking each town under his ruthless rule.

Many towns surrendered to his will, for if anyone resisted, they were killed, regardless of age or gender. One man however, refused to fall under the rule of this madman. King Archibald III of the great city Aurendale, amassed a resistance army uniting all the towns and cities he could to stop The Sacred. His forces pushed The Sacred back into Badrea, to their homeland in The Shadow Planes. With the help of Algora’s finest wizards and sorcerers, a portal was opened at The Shadow Gate, and Archibald sent Nalrasa and his sacred race to the Underworld, a world far from Algora.

Now a thousand years later, a powerful mage, poisoned by the promise of awesome power, has reopened the gate and allowed The Sacred to re-enter the land. The Sacred, now lead by their new king, Archlord Orion Tassidus, have come back with burning vengeance in their hearts, with the sole intention to take back their homeland, and enslave the people of Algora.

The player will be a member of a small village not far from Aurendale, which, like many other villages and towns, is threatened by The Sacred.

At this time I am looking for people who will be willing to do any of these jobs: -Story Refinement -Dialog Writing -Voice Acting -Module Creation -scripting -Modeling (characters, tilesets, weapons, etc) -Art (textures, banners, loadscreens, etc) -Web Design -Beta Testers

If you feel you can fill any of those jobs and would like to help work on this mod, please feel free to apply, either here, or at my website, www.critters-ent.com.

The website is still very much under construction.

Thank you for your time, -Cocoa-

i'd be interested, if knowledge on how to export models and animations from max were a little easier to find.

I myself had a little bit of trouble finding information on how to do this, however there is a very nice tool made by one of the community members that is a plugin for 3dsMax that allows for the importing and exporting of the MD8 models, the only thing not possible at this point is animations, but any static/placeables are fully able to be created. Here is the tool, so you can have a look at it:

Hope that helps a bit, -Cocoa-

At this point, the plan is to do reskins and resizings of the original creatures. The toolset alows for a vast amount of customization that will alow us to creat npc's and characters that are unique, even without having to make entirely new models. -Cocoa

how are you intending to create new creatures, or characters, without animation support?
