Ok i'm wantin to buy a game that has pretty good graphics, good online gaming and is a shoot-em-up? I thought about gettin BattleField 2 but the graphics aint too appealing to me.. I like a certain realism in my gaming experience.. I have BattleFront 2 and i like that.. So any reckomendations? A. Fury
Well in good online play I would go for MOHAA Spearhead it's a great game and has good graphics. SOF2 is older but is by far the best game, it has an easy to learn interface and good online play (so i'm told), graphics are great when you die you bleed and if you take a nade your body parts go flying.
You can either agree with meor be wrong.

I like your thinking, SoF2 will always have a warm place in my heart. but I must say, if you want good mp/shoot m up/good SP as well/and AWESOME graphics, id go with FEAR.. :naughty: just make sure your comp can handle it
I would suggest F.E.A.R. as well but its a HUGE system hog and needs alot to run good.
I would get Call of Duty 2, VERY fun SP with very dramatic and heartpounding secenes, the MP is also really fun.

May I also suggest Counterstrike Source. very fun game online. and when you buy it, there Half Life 2 in the package as well, which is a game every FPS game lover should own IMO. :P
Call of Duty 2, although I think the first CoD has faster action but CoD 2 takes the win with the phenom graphics.
Battlefield 2 is a MMOFPS, however, you completely contradicted yourself when you said you liked certain realism in your gaming but you liked battlefront 2, thoose are completely opposite things, there is nothing realistic about the starwars universe, and if you meant you like realistc graphics, then you have not seen battlefield 2 properly, there is nothing cartoony or anything of the sort about it's graphics, they are way more realistic than battlefront 2. I reccomend you check out Battlefield 2 again, and more thoroughly. Probably best you don't seriously check out FEAR and not much else as its graphics are overrated (yes I can play them maxed out) and its online play isn't much, and as everyone said, you need a hell of a computer to run it well. Although its single player is great, if you like scary stuff and amazing shoot outs look into it well, as it has slow mo effect and that watery effect behind bullets and good lighting with lights spinning and sparks flying and lumps of wall flying and splinters from the floor flying and so on, just amazingly cinematic gun fights. And the scary side of it is not scary in my opinion but everyone else apparently craps their pants so. The multi-player in my opinion is a glass of water, it's always there but you don't get much out of it and there is alot better multiplayers to spend your time on. Soldier of fortune 2 is a huge online FPS game, if CS wasn't practicly free in every possible way then SOF2 would probably be the world famous online FPS. Although its graphics are oldish, but bearable, but nothing impressive in them. There is a huge online community, tons of skins or sounds and models and whatever, so you can customise your online experience down to the last thing. I always found that great because I'm one of thoose people who are prone to style, so when I see a movie or something whether it be special forces or SWAT or military or gangs or virtually anything you can think of, you can just easily get the right skins in place. The Single player I found ok, but never bothered with it, I get the impression alot of people appreciate it though and have played numerous times, but it is one man army stuff which I don't particularly care for when there is nothing outstanding about it. The campaign takes you through Prague and Columbia and more Columbia and jungles and somewhere else or 2. Talking of CS, one of the biggest games this year was Half life 2, brilliant single player, although it is a very fictional story line it isn't exactly out-of-this-galaxy unrealistic, It's background is alot like 1984, everyone dominated by evil police (Combine, very cool looking, gas masks and whatever) but is big groups of rebels who you fight along side with at many points, at end huge battle going on in city and you are surrounded by them most the time. (not to mention dog! one of the coolest things I have seen in gaming, awesome) Lots of great battles and shoot outs in single player and very very addictive story line and creepy moments and whatever, generally a incredibly solid Single player experience. Also tons of mods, huge community, you get CS source for free (the sequal of Counter.Strike, which like I said is the biggest online FPS there is) If you don't know much about CS (Counter Strike) it is more or less realistic, 2 teams (Terrorists and Counter Terrorists), afew hostages or a bomb, lots of famous and great maps, lots of guns to buy with money that you magicly get by blowing peoples heads off. great gameplay and great fun. The graphics are amazing too, amazing textures, amazing lighting, strong Anti-Aliasing, everything you could ask for, and a really solid engine (which is great for modding) Another great game and slightly underrated is SWAT 4, sure everyone knows it, and SWAT 3 was touching on huge, but I don't think SWAT 4 gets the thorough attention it deserves. If you don't know much about it, you have 4 team mates, divided into two teams, Red and Blue, but there is 3 different ways of controlling them- Red (the 2 red team members of course) Blue (duh) and Gold (both Red and Blue) You can do each team members load out before a mission, there is no money or unlocking items or weapons in the game so you have all the fancy crap from the beginning. You get tons of weapons from SMGS to Shotguns to Pistols and some fun non-lethal weapons such as the pepperspray/paintball gun, which if you are confused is a paintball gun which fires pepper spray, and a beanbag shotgun, which speaks for it self that is a shotgun that shotguns bean bags (trust me, it hurts) Point in theese weapons is to make enemys (suspects) surrender so you can cuff them up and so on, if you didn't know how SWAT works, not that you will neccesarily lose if you just want to shoot the crap out of all of them. Also tons of fancy gadegst such as door wedges and the optiwand (lets you look under the door in a 21st century style and look around the room on the other side well) and pepper spray and all sorts of grenades. It's single player is brilliant, huge replayability, there is a good 10 odd missions and you can always start from different positions in the map, and no matter where you start there is practicly infinate different routes you can take and spend for ever trying different load outs with your team mates and different tactics and approahc the mission in different ways, and you get a score for each mission so you can always work on getting that to 100 (no one hurt or killed or whatever and everyone nice and cuffed up) Command is really easy and simple, such as there is a head camera system where you can view red or blue teams head cam in the top right corner, and make the window bigger and give them orders through it, so you can strike a room from two different sides and control one half of your team on the other side of the building and do all fancy plans. and giving orders normally is just right click and select from lists. Also Multi-player is great, lots of game modes, be suspects or SWAT in TDMs or you can play the single player missions with other people in co-op, and people actualy play good, like people will actualy listen to the leader or one another and follow plans. Style is great, lots of room take downs, with smoke nades or flash bangs or grenades that shoot rubber balls everywhere (ouch) and all adreneline style and so on, flash lights, get down, smokey, bang bang, blah blah. It has great lighting, great textures, nice models, and there is a expansion coming out in the near future that is looking great and even better looking graphics from a glimpse. If you like World war 2 I reccomend Call of duty 2, Amazing textures, great lighting and so on, generally amazing graphics, some characters even look photographic at moments. Always lots of people to fight with, get caught up in mini to decent sized battles, snowy stalingrad, beach landings, egypt, single player hugely varies through out the war, and it is sequal to one of the biggest if not the biggest game the other year, and multi-player is huge and everyone seems to love it, it is virtually the WW2 version of CS in multi-player. Only other game I can think of is Farcry, Great graphics, amazing water, multi player is rubbish, single player is great experience, one man army stuff, all set on tropical island, lots of weird monsters and mercenarys to fight. That's all I can be bothered to type for now. Also look into Doom 3(one man army, fight hell) Medal of honor: Pacific Assault(squad based, WW2 in pacific, fighting japs) First to fight (like realism and simulation? and playing marines in middle east? tactical, squad based) Delta force: Black hawk down (like the movie? get this, lots of teammates, huge multiplayer) Star wars: Republic Commando (squad based, not very tactical, you all look super cool, has style, great fun, underrated)
Note: I have played all theese games extensively on Multiplayer or Single player, and most on both. and always maxed out graphics.
Edit: Oh, and Quake 4, how ever I haven't played it yet, but it has Doom 3 engine (beautiful graphics, some one man army stuff I believe and some fighting with space marines against armis of something stupid, but still looks great and it apparently is great, and coincidentially it is sitting infront of me right now after just coming through the door from Thailand.
I'd say SWAT 4 or Battlefield 2. Two amazing FPS games that all give you the feeling that you are in the combat.
I was strongly considering purchasing First to Fight, since I am a marine, myself; but I heard it got very bad reviews.
I would say Call of Duty 2.
