I'm looking for a new RPG game to play. It needs to have real time combat, and I don't want first-person view. The game also needs to be for PC. Also, it doesn't need to have multiplayer elements, but it has to have a solo mode

I've played the diablo games, fate, nox, and a few others I can't think of atm.

Can anyone give me any good names to look up?

Thanks in advanced.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (and its sequel) is good.

^YES! Neverwinter Nights, The Witcher, Fallout 3 and Oblivion(Although Oblivion is better for FPS, but can be 3rd person). And although its an FPS Deus Ex NEEDS to be played

He wants real time combat, which would infer not turn-based. Witcher is good, although the combat is a little weird at first (and it's not a game suitable for children if you're conerned about that kind of thing). Deus Ex is good, although it definitely plays more like a FPS (it is still widely considered to be an RPG, though). Deus Ex is good in the sense that it's freely available for download on GameTap, so if you don't like it you haven't wasted any money.

Oblivion is okay, but I prefer Morrowind (has more mods and is more stable on lower-end systems than Oblivion is). Those two are the epitome of the real-time medieival-fantasy RPG, though. Games like NWN and KotOR are good RPG's, but they rely on the non-real-time system that Dungeons & Dragons uses.

Also if you liked Diablo you might want to consider Titan Quest, although I found that game significantly less engaging than Diablo II. It plays the same, though, but the studio that made it went under.

Morrowind is great. I really like oblivion better but morrowind has more mods available. I really like deus ex GREAT game. But kind of old. KOTOR is pretty awsome. I really like a game called Freelancer but it is space based. I also like a multi type game called Battlecruiser (it is available freely from FF|). It let's you explore space air sea and ground. And has a code that generates random events. I'll try to think of more later.

Forgot about that :P. And there's only one turn based game on there. KOTOR is kind of real time.

KotOR has the same system that NWN does and it's definitely not real time. It's considered "round-based."

They work hard to give the illusion of being real-time, but any games in the Forgotten Realms series (as well as KotOR/2) are no more real-time than Civ 2.

Another one you might like if you're a Diablo fan, is Divine Divinity. It's pretty much the same type of game, only with more depth to it's world. Beyond Divinity is okay, not great, and Divinity 2 is upcoming.

And if you're a pure Diablo junkie, Throne Of Darkness. It's Diablo, with samurai. Beat that.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

MikouenDivine Divinity

I question the quality of this game based solely on its very creative title. =p
