Well, I bought the new Medal of Honor expecting a dedicated and long single-player campaign, and I was thoroughly disappointed at the reviews clocking the SP at 6 hours. I guess that's the new pace of shooters nowadays. I'm very disappointed at EA for going the short SP, fun MP route, and when I mean fun MP, I mean fun for people that are good at it.

They say the SP is good but flawed at spots, so it may still may be a fun 6 hours. I thought MW2's campaign was fun though it had a 6 hour long campaign and I played it through a few times.

I'm on the fence right now about keeping it. Though I have the PC version, I haven't opened the packaging so I can return it. What do you think I should do? Take it back, or keep it and give it a try? I enjoyed the beta so I may enjoy the MP, but that's an unknown variable. To be honest, I felt that I wasn't bad at it.

So keep or return?

I've only read bad things about this game. Regarding both multiplayer and singleplayer. I haven't played it myself, but I guess returning it may be the right choice. Buy a bargain you always wanted to play and use the rest of the money to get this game when it arrives at a more realistic $5 price range.

Are you going for other games like Fallout New Vegas or Fable 3 or Gothic 4?

If you are and you need cash for it, I'd say return it. SP was great, but not great enough that it made me want to go through it again. Tier 1 mode is just time attacks, etc. challenges for the SP campaign with other players.

Honestly, say I suck or not, but I couldn't tolerate MP for more than 4 rounds. Probably the latency of 170+ minimum, but I unleashed heavy MG bullets into someone, and he only returned 2-3 bullets at me and I died. Not to mention I don't know how people find me when I've hid like... so well. But I for the run of my life, cannot find the campers at all. Like you say, its fun, for the people that know how to play it well.... I'm no fan of the italic situation.

Why not give it a try?The game has a little bit lazy AI,terrain in all maps looks same and SP campaign is pretty short, but it also has nice graphics and some amazing effects,as well as helicopter system,it looks and feels beter then in most games, you can't be a pilot thought.MoH probably could and should be better but if you like FPS's i think you will have some fun with it for sure.I don't know anything about MP yet though. My advice-keep it. :)

Not really going for those games. I didn't stay interested enough in Fallout 3 long enough to keep playing it though I may pick it back up, so I really don't care about New Vegas at the moment. Think I've heard of Gothic 4. What's that like?

But SP focused games like Fallout 3 co-op focused like Borderlands is something I'm looking for. I just wish that someone (other than Activision) would make a modern-day shooter that's immersive but not shorter than 12 or so hours.

You may be interested in RAGE, although it has the same post apocalyptic feel as Borderlands and Fallout 3, it is a story driven open world shooter. Not much is known about it so far, but it looks pretty good in my opinion, from what I have seen.

I cannot comment on Medal of Failure, for it looks the same as Modern Failure 2 to me.

I know what I'm going to do. I'm going to first ask Best Buy if they allow returns for unopened PC games (I assume so since you can't pirate something you can't open). If they do, I'll just rent it on a console. If I like it, I'll keep it. If I don't, I'll return it. I'll likely beat it during the rental, so it may be returned nonetheless unless the MP is good.

Given what you said, I'd return it and maybe wait to see if it gets patched and the price will obviously drop too with so many disappointed in it. It's averaging only about a 75% rating world wide on review sites right now, and I can concur that at least the sp part is no better than that, and IS only 6 hrs as mentioned. So it's not worth paying anywhere near full price for. Even if you had fun with mp, you already know what to expect, so it won't be anything new to you. And though you had fun with it, you're still skeptical. Listen to yourself, you're cautious for a reason.
