If there is already a topic on here about this please feel free to move it and give me a link so I can look at it. I love the imaginative realism of the MGS series. Hideo combines the realism with his imaginative mind and in my mind I think that through doing this he has made one of the best game series ever. In MGS 3 he used the Cold War as the realistic side and charcters such as The Fury, The Fear and The Pain on the imaginative side. I love the over the top story lines where you find out loads of shit. Like in MGS 1 when you realise that the card keys you've spent ages looking for then changing there shapes actually activates Metal Gear. The main reason why I created this topic is to see what other people feel about the MGS series.
It's a good game/s but the storylines are get a little absurd, the best was snake eat though, big boss rocks.
I agree that the story lines get slightly out of hand but they are still amazing games.
Awesome games. :D
I love the gameplay, visuals, and the cinematics. Very interesting story too.
LOVE the games amazing all round, stroyline is like too good
Amazing game, especially the psycho mantis battle, innovative genius.
the boses are all mad and soo mentel like vamp, wtf he is mental and if u look next to the yellow taxi rite at the end of mgs2 he still alive wtf.
Really? shit I never knew that *goes out looking for screenshots*. I think vamp was going a bit too far, aswell as the psychic woman and the arm thing, I mean, MGS has always had a little fantasy stuff in it, but that IMO was going too far.
I loved the first one, never really like the second that much and haven't tried the first. That scene where you got tortured and it determined the ending, truly heart breaking.
The only thing I didn't like about Snake Eater was that one boss "fight" on the river with the sorrow - where you just walk and beat the hell out of ghosts, that were supposedly the saps you killed through the course of the game. Games with, "WTF!" moments like that tend to suck - but the rest of the game was f'in awesome so it all worked out. Also cool how it let you keep all your crap when you started a new game - getting the camo from "the end" took 45 minutes. Never got that alligator disgiuse though, anyone else figure out where it was?
