Hi everyone. I have a question. Who is the most powerful protagonist in video games? I mean, not just in cutscenes and videos, but in the actual gameplay.

Super Mario. He kills his enemies by simply jumping on them. If that isn't powerful, I don't know what is. =p

LOL, I saw your GameTrailers thread worded the same.

It's almost like you'd have to categorize it according to type of genre/protagonist, because many have powers WAY more than you would see in other type games.

Alex Mercer from Prototype was one good response I saw, which I was thinking myself before looking at that thread.

For traditional superhero characters, maybe The Hulk, Iron Man, Green Lantern, etc.

I'm not into fighter games, so I'll skip those.

For horror games I like Isaac Clarke, he's badass.

For traditional shooters, the characters you play in Crysis seem to be able to handle just about anything.

RPGs, I don't know, don't play them much, but if you build skills well, whatever you play as in Skyrim can be devastating, esp after player level 50. I'm about level 56 so far, using just light armor, shield and steel war axe still, and I'm often getting the decapitation animation in combat anymore.

Commander Shepard

He saved the galaxy, died, was BROUGHT BACK FROM THE FREAKIN' DEAD, temporarily stopped the Reapers, and he's coming back to do it again in 7 days.

Commander Shepard is equal to infinite Chuck Norris's, FACT!!! :stallard:

There is no protagonist, only the unrecognized villain.

Probably a high-level wizard from some 3.5e D&D based game.
