Well... the good and the bad.
Storyline's pretty decent. Graphics are pretty amazing. Crafting is intricate and interesting. Combat is pretty visceral and strategic.
You can only pick up 8 quests at a time, with each of them having a 48 hour cooldown. I'm not sure if that's just for beta or not, but it's in beta, and it's extremely annoying. Crafting can be frustrating as it's complex yet almost too much is left to chance. The menu's, combat, crafting, and selling items are all extremely laggy. I know this could be just because it's a beta, but these are going to be the real servers, so they'd better fix it up.
This game has a lot of great things. The difficulty and die-hard nature of it gives it a sense of authenticity and immersion. But with that comes a forced withdrawal that really irritates. This is one of those games where I have to think: Is it a blast? Or just fun? From an MMO standpoint, it falls short in sooooo many ways, and would end up leaving me with a sense of illspent time. Shit takes soooo long to complete, you feel like you spent half your time waiting to do something, and the other half wishing it wasn't done so you'd have something to do other than wait to wait if you understand what I mean. I mean, look at me here, blabbin away. I feel like this game... deserves... to be talked about. Because to me it's like a girlfriend that was so hot, so smart, in a relationship with so much potential, that never goes all the way. And I KNOW I'm gonna wonder what coulda been.
And by that time something better will be out.
Ah well whatcha gonna do?
Final Fantasy MMOs never have a good grip on things in my observations. Never has been for 11, never will be for 14. The FF world is just too big and unique to be an MMO.
agree with you. i think they are gambling for this one

Oh, I thought this thread was going to be about Final Fantasy 4, like the title says. But anyway, I can see it's not about Cecil. Carry on.
