So I'll be getting the new X-com when it comes out, and since you can name your units I thought I may name the units after forum members, who would like to volunteer themselves to die? Order of posts will be the order of the units I rename and use.

I plan on making myself as well, who knows maybe we'll all survive chances are no, no we won't.

So pick a first and last name, your nickname will be your username, you can suggest a wanted nationality, but chances are there won't be enough to go around so some of you may be a bit random

Oh man, I remember doing this back in the day. Skyranger lands, see Chrysalid - everyone back on the Skyranger, we're going home. :)

Papa "Nemmerle" Nurgle, I think =p (or Nem, if Nemmerle doesn't fit.)

What did you make of the demo so far? PC or console? I'm still on the fence about whether to get it or not.

Schofield reporting for duty!

As for my first and last name, use Amadeus Cutler. If Canada isn't available I'll go for anything. Anything other than England.

After listening the devs on a giant bomb "quick look" I'm looking forward to the game, apparently even the devs themselves said the PC version will look much better than the console versions.

As for the Demo, It was short; but I liked it, they seemed to have made it a bit casual or streamlined however you want to say it, but the core of the game is still there, the only thing I'm disappointed about is that the maps, if the demo and videos of what I've seen of it so far are any indication, is that you are always here "X" and the aliens seem to be "X", in a straight line, as where the older the games you sort of had to fan out with your squad and search for them, which normally resulted in alot of deaths in your squad, but who knows.

I give the demo a 7.5/8, I'm a sucker for turned base stratagem/tactics games.

Sure, you can use my nick, if you like. Fancy or MrFancypants or any other combination.

The old X-Com games were great, UFO through Apocalpyse at least. The open source version Alien Invasion is quite good as well. It is more of a X-Com than the remake, in any case.

As for the demo - I am unsure, the game has been dumbed down quite a bit and the fun part about the old games was the challenge. Still may be a good game, other Sid Meier titles these days are pretty simplistic but still fun. The demo doesn't let you test the strategic part. As Mihail said, the linear levels suck. At least they got some of the sounds right. Remember the "tink tonk" when you step on metal tiles? They've got that at least.

I'll volunteer myself for the slaughter... hehe

Alex "Antilles" Gibbs, obviously. :P And damn you Nemmerle... I wanted the sniper... :P

Personally, I'm actually looking to get it on Xbox when it comes out.

The demo's locked on easy. - Or at least you can't choose otherwise from within the game. If you check out the ini files you can make it harder.

The game seems to be getting fairly high reviews, but mentions it's step towards casualization.
