I'm in the market for an MMO. I've never purchased one before, but I have played the trial versions of WoW and LotRO. I liked WoW quite a bit, but for various reasons I don't want to play it (LoTRO bored me immensely for some reason). Can anyone recommend another MMO that's not too hard, has good PvE, and preferably isn't too heavily populated? Thanks.

EVE Online if you don't mind a bit of work.

Thanks, I'll look into it. Heard it's pretty tough, though.

I would steer clear from MOST MMOs that require grinding or relies totally/heavily on stats, unless you plan on .... erhem... using Unconventional means of getting "stuff"

you'd be better off with a singleplayer game though I hear Battlefield Europe isn't that bad

This is the one I'd recommend. Eve requires you to work, but in terms of what you gain is pretty dam good. Past that I'd say LOTRO, it was kind of crappy at first due to lack of content, but with the upcoming updates and constant polishing it's really starting to shine. Dam stable too.

This can be good. I know Riles and Red Menace play it, so chat to them if you're interested. It can run pretty poorly on a lot of machines though.

I've actually never played Battleground Europe before. I recall trying out some sort of single player tutorial, but that was around two years ago.

What I have played is World at War when they still used Forgotten Hope. I don't have BF2, so I have no experience with their new campaigns.

The only "real" MMORPG I've played for any period of time was Anarchy Online and Navyfield. They were both enjoyable considering that they were free.

I do have only limited experience with MMORPGs, but I will recommend Lineage 2. If you wish to go on the public servers, you will have to pay. There are however two private servers, both of which have the leveling rate increased, one of them to x200. This'll allow you to reach the higher levels in a matter of days and remove much of the grinding element, whether you find that a good feature or not is up to personal taste. The graphics are very good, the traffic is low and the game itself is enjoyable. However it can be rather glitchy.

I was actually referring to SeinfieldRiles, but no harm done. =p

That reminds me, I had a stint in Anarchy Online, but never really enjoyed it.
