I just reinstalled my old NWN, and just remembered how awesome it is. Right now I just started Chapter 2, and so far the game has been great, and I have only one complaint; the game seemsto dark. No, not "dark" as in grisly, emotional disturbing, etcetera, but "dark"as in dark. It seems like it is always nighttime, and the dungeons and houses look dreary and boring. In chapter 2, however, it seems to have gotten a little better. Concerning the gameplay, it is very nice. I like how you can zoom in with the camera to suit your taste, and the fact that you can move with the mouse or the WASD keys also is a nice touch. There are loads of side-quests to do, and I bet it would've taken me twice the time to finish chapter 1 if I did all the side-quests. The item selection is just splendid, but the enemies get a bit stale after cleaving your 200th goblin. There are plenty of maps to explore, from caves to dungeons under a simple looking mausoleum, to castles and manors. The game is based on the Dungeons and Dragons system, so there are 5 or 6 races to choose from and something like 10 classes, so there is alot of diversity. Now I'm enjoying the game immensely, although the campaign seems a [i]bit[/b] drawn out. Your opinions on NWN and its 2 expansions, Hordes of the Underdark and another one which I can't remember the name of right now?
Well , I got the Platinum pack, which includes all the expansions, and bunch of modules. I ve been playing for about a week, and very impressed. Definatly a step up from Baldur's Gate 2- one of my favorite RPGs. I am enjoying it a lot. Highly recommended!! I should have gotten it years ago. I got so busy with other games that I overlooked this gem. BTW, I am from Latvia, Riga
I didnt play NWN much. but i liked it very much. :)

Very cool game though i kinda missed the BG serie perspective. So for me it was both a disapointment and a cool game. Actually i just finished it halfway this vacation since i never game to fisinish it before that (blame my brother formatting my computer  ). Last month ghost, Inyri, me and some others played NWN online together :D. I cant wait for NWN 2 or DragonAge :D

The other expansion pack is Shadows of Undrentide (I still haven't played either pack, though). The game is OK, but it's pretty fun when you get a whole party of people online, like a few months back a bunch of GF-ers joined a server I created so we could all go through chapter 1.

It was a good game, but I had the same problem Dönitz described. I also think that most parts of the game were rather dark. In BG2 you had a good variation of settings, cities, forrests, dungeons, the Underdark (a dream come true for all Salvatore fans) :) Hehe, anyone remember the part with the "Eye of the beholder"? You needed such an eye to complete a quest and a little while later you find a group of 5 level 1-chars and give them this quest. lol, this game was so awesome.
It was a bit too D&D for me when I played it, too slow combat etc. Never got into it really, I have a group of friends who used to play all the time though.
I enjoy it a lot. I always liked the BG series plot line a lot better, though...makes me wish they had BG with NVN graphics.

NWN = hawt. If I were a guy, I'd want Aribeth to have my children. Alas, I am not...
NWN is a pretty good game, I always enjoy getting into big swordfight duels with opponents, as the strike and parry fighting looks cool. What I'm really waiting for though, is NWN 2.
