Take-Two interactive have announced that they're opening a brand new studio in the Valley under the 2K banner, and that the director of Dead Space and Call of Duty, Michael Condrey, who co-founded Sledgehammer Games.

The new studio is working on an as-yet unannounced game, but given Condrey's credentials, it seems safe to assume that we're likely looking at some kind of shooter. Take Two have announced that the studio will have full creative freedom, so it should lead to some interesting results.

Great games come from the passion of a team driven by the pursuit of quality and the empowerment of an independent studio model, 2K’s studios have creative and technical autonomy, backed by a world-class infrastructure of support, and that offers the perfect recipe to build a new studio and craft experiences that will lead the next generation of gaming for fans everywhere.

Stay tuned for GameFront for more news as we get it, but we're looking forward to seeing what titles come out of this new studio in the future.
