SVD_Sniper;3466170PS3 Power, great games. METAL GEAR.Warhawk. Killzone (360ers cant take it ps3 has a sweeeeet game here). Location free. If you have a psp, you get other benefits (I have 1). The ONLY bad thing about the ps3 is the price. Then again, for me the high price is good. Kids go and buy the cheap one (wii) and play kids games, while any serious gamers can play the PS3 with sensible games. The PS3 wont have as many cell shaded kids-flick spin off games as the ps2 this way
I don't like the sound of that. I don't think it will affect the market positively, if there are fewer "kids" gaees on a console. Game developers will go where the Money is, and the money is with the parents of young kids, and tweens with jobs. Why buy a Ps3, and an X-Box, or Wii, if the serious games are going to be on one of the other consoles? The PS3 is over-hyped.
So PS3 for me. Oh and another thing : I think people dont like the PS3 because the PS2 dominated the market. Discuss!

That may be so. I hated the X-Box for that reason. I also hate the X-Box 360 for that reason. Microsoft dominates the Operating System, web browser, and office suite markets.

Microsoft is a software company, not a console company. Microsoft aims to dominate every market it enters. It aims to minimize competition.

Sony is a multi-media company. Gaming is a form of media,...

Nintendo is a game company. Originally card games.

According to this logic, Sony would be a more logical company to support. Aside from the years that Nintendo had to develop itself as an iconic gaming company.

Honestly, I prefer Nintendo because of its ethics. The same ethics which are responsible for its downfall. I prefer to play MK without the blood. It is easier on the eyes.

Nintendo once had the same monopoly on gaming that you blast Microsoft for having now. how very hypocritical. Nintendo had one of the most ruthless business practices of its time and didnt begin mending its ways until nearly all 3rd party developers jumped ship during the post 16 bit era. Sony entered the gaming arena becuase Nintendo tried to shaft them on the joint venture CD gaming platform they were co-developing. Sony said piss off and turned it into what later became known as the playstation. before then it was known as the Dolphin. History repeats i guess. If it wasnt for its stranglehold on the portable market, Nintendo would have gone the way of Sega a decade ago. If the PSP ever takes off due to interconnectability with the PS3. Nintendo will be in real trouble as much as i hate to say it. Whoring out your only 3 IP's will only get you so far in the market.

Roaming East;3466591Nintendo once had the same monopoly on gaming that you blast Microsoft for having now. how very hypocritical.
I heard about this, but never saw any concrete info on it. The difference between Microsoft, and Nintendo, is that Microsoft has monopolized many areas of the computer industry. They are almost as powerfull as Wal-Mart. With the Zune, and X-Box Microsoft will have almost complete control of the computer industry, if the Zune is a success.

Nintendo only controlled the console video game market, and then the portable console game market. Nintendo does one thing, and it does it well. If they got too greedy, then they deserved to loose their place at the top. Hopefully they have learned their lesson, so it won't happen again.

Your right about that. The Mario games are old. Nintendo needs new variety in the lineup for its consoles. 3rd party, or otherwise. If they don't slow down, they are going to damage the Mario franchise. Similiar to how Star Trek: Enterprise affects future Star Trek series.

Well, Nintendo has more than 3 IPs.

Mario Zelda Metroid Pokemon

Not including Nintendogs, Star Fox,or F-Zero. Which are not on the same level as the other four.
