Sweet. What is it like? Are you in the army or something?

To complete that training you need to press the E (flair) key about a second before you hit the ground. That will make your parachute expand and slow you down even further, but make sure you dont do it to early or your chute will fold up and you will fall quicker.

Yes, I am in the Army, but I am not airborne I jump from a civilian plane. It was great. At first you have to sit through a 3 hour class, where an instructor teaches you about malfunctions, PLF, and flaring. After that, you go up in the plane. I jumped from 4000 feet both times. When the side door opens, you sit on the edge with your legs hanging out. You hold the edges of the door with your hands. Then the instructor pushes you out. The chute opens in about 3-5 seconds, and then you glide down. You can control the chute with handles. Here is a photo of me right before I jumped Jump.jpg

BTW, flaring doesnt expand the chute. It works like flaps on a plane. When you pull on both handles, the back of the chute folds a little, creating more lift. This slows you down for few seconds. The trick is not to flare to soon, cause right after you flare, the chute picks up speed. You have to time the flare perfectly while landing , or you can get hurt. If you are good, you can land on your feet (I did the second time I jumped)
