I am pretty dissapointed in the Revolution thus far; and I've come here to complain about how I hate it. First off, wtf is up with that controller, it looks like A FRIGGIN TV SWITCHER! I think gamers want something simple, not a friggin dildo shaped controller that is probably gonna piss off your gaming hand quicker than a button-masher. (Plus I don't want to have to buy a gizzilion controllers for one stupid system).

Anyway, you all know Nintendo is supposed to be innovative. Sure, look what it did for the Virtual Boy and Gamecube. I don't even have to say what happened to the Virtual Boy. Gamecube flopped because of the little boring kiddie games and it's lack of good graphics (they stopped making Gamecubes).

I think revolution is heading down the same road. Nintendo used to be the leader in gaming a long time ago, but ever since the ps2 and Xbox came out, that ended. (Don't think I'm a lunatic XBOX fan, I don't even have one and I didn't buy my Ps2 until after I had my GC for a year).

I was watching a video a while ago of what (I think it was) Miyamoto saying that Revolution won't even have as good as graphics as XBOX (geeze looks like this guy and Nintendo don't want to sell their systems). What he did "say" (NINTENDO HAS BEEN DOING A LOT OF LIP-FLAPPING AND NO PICTURES OF ANY GAMES FOR IT'S SYSTEM, WTF), was pretty boring. Went something like this:

"Yap yap yap, a new controller (reused idea) that's unlike all the others (retarted looking) that will bring a revolution (people burning down Nintendo's HQ because of stupidity)."

Nintendo has a way of not lying about what they say, yet the finished product they give out tends to always have a catch (mostly for kiddies with imaginations). So in the end Miyamoto and all the Nintendo developers look like Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory (basically a bunch of cheesy game developers that make games that look like they come from a bunch of high on drugs nerds who nobody cares about).

XBOX and XBOX360 however, looks astonishing and amazing. Have you seen some of the screenshots (which Nintendo refuses to let you see A DAMN THING, prob cause the system sucks.)

JUST LIKE BEFORE XBOX is gonna be 1st, PS3 2nd and Revolution in 3rd.

:bows:

I disagree... I think Nintendo are still one of the best video game developers and most innovative companies ever. The games on the Gamecube aren't all "kiddy" games, even tho some may look like it they diffenately dont play like it. Nintendo may not be huge in the graphics department (tho the Gamecube puts out as good graphics as the Xbox in my opinion) but they own in gameplay. Thats what Nintendo is all about. Not fancy graphics. They continue to bring the world new games that revolutionise the gaming world... Zelda, Mario 64, Nintendogs and Metroid. Have you actually played any of the "good" games on the Gamecube? Heres some suggestions... Mario Tennis... Mario Sunshine... Metroid Prime... Resident Evil 4... Zelda the Wind Waker... Harvest Moon... Animal Crossing and Paper Mario. Even tho the Gamecube may not have as many games on it, it certainly has enough "quality" games on it to keep you amused even longer than any other console if you can get over the fact that you may think your playing something designed for kids and actually look at whats important... gameplay. And before you say it... no im not a Nintendo fan boy, yes I own a Gamecube even a Super Nintendo, but I also own a Dreamcast, Xbox, PS2, PSP, DS and a PC. Nuff said.

I have to agree, I'd call myself a pretty long term nintendo fan, but they're screwing themselves over here. Nintendo need to get out of this stupid mindframe that US and European gamers will buy games which look like they're designed for a 5 year old. They need to learn that first impressions are very important in the game business. Stuff like Metroid is the way to go [not something I particularly like, but it's a good image], Nintendo may not need fancy graphics, but they do need customers, and I fear that the Revolution could send Nintendo under, because I severly doubt it will sell well in Europe and the US.

I also agree. That controller was enough to put me off, but also the games themselves look like they belong in a childs store.

I will agree that nintendo are moving into a seriously risky zone, and its true the only reason I bought the cube was because it was the cheapest, so... No wait, I'm not sure whether I agree or disagree here. Revolution is undoubtedly going to be the cheapest of the consoles, therefore I shall buy it. I dont really mind or care what direction nintendo moves in, as long as they continue making kickass games and new, innovative ways to play. I guess I support nintendo after all :D

If it's cheap I'll buy one, but I think I'm gonna be among a minority.

I agree, Nintendo do need more customers. Also maybe a mascot that appeals to the older gamer. But still their games are absolutely solid. Nintendo would have to have one of the best (if not the best) track record of producing brilliant games.

Im also very dubious about this controller of their's, but then I think about the download feature, getting FF6 (US3) and the Super Mario series, Stunt Race FX, Unicycle and such... take me back to the old school, graphics... crap, so what... gameplay brilliant! Thats all I really care about, yes graphics will appeal on the box but once you crack it open give it a go and realise that you just bought a pretty, but crap game you'll be taking it back.

Also I think when we see some screens of what the games are going to look like, and how they will work with this weird controller AND when we see the first screenshots of something like Zelda or the next Mario game, I think we all will wanting to get the Revolution. They might not look as pretty as the PS3 or Xbox 360 games BUT I think we will be getting all round better quality games that will have some amazing features, as this controller (as weird as it looks) will be bring some new and wacky features never even thought of before to the gaming world.

I also hope Nintendo do it right... I dont want to see them become another Sega and give up the console market and go into producing games, mass producing things that end up being mediocre... Ala: the Sonic franchise.

Nintendo owned 94% of the handheld market (there was no competition) that would of helped them alot, now the PSP, im sure has taken a massive chunk out of that! I just hope they hang in there.

Nintendo was without a doubt first in the console wars, until the generation we are in now. With the Xbox and stuff. Yet still the Gamecube's graphics run circles around both the Xbox and PS2, although i was doubtful at what the games would be like, i still preferred some of those games over say Halo and GTA. There will always be a market for Nintendo and they will always manage to make consoles that entertain me and a lot of people i know.

Yup, Mr E and Overwatch know what they're talking about. Blitz, get your PSP outta your ass and broaden the spectrum of games you play.

Mr E is one of the only guys here that knows how the word 'quality' ties in with games. Nintendo's 1st party games for their consoles are absolutely top notch in everything and are polished to the bone. I'll be looking forward to the Revolution.
