I found this game to be quite disappointing in terms of graphics, cos I lag with an 640mb XFX 8800GTS Extreme + OC, and that kinda bugs me.

While the graphics don't really compare to games like Crysis and whatnot, you have to understand that it still has a fairly high graphics card requirement due mostly to the amount of stuff that's going on at any one time... RPG's generally have more going on in the immediate viewscreen than other games so there is still a strain on graphics, regardless of quality level, to be able to process everything... Add that to the fact that most of today's RPG's render worlds in real time and...well... If Neverwinter Nights 2 had Crysis-level graphics then the requirements would be phenomenal...

However... lagging with a 640MB graphics card is something that I would look into a little further ;)

The graphics are amazing in NWN2! I dont get what the problem is. The detail of objects is top notch, and the spells look great when cast, along with the very good enchanted weapons that glow. The cut scenecs are nice, although the still photo ones are a bit of a dissapointment, but you cant have your cake and rast it all the time, there has to comprimise. p.s has the person that posted this played NWN1 ? now thats BAD! :p

Ah, but remember how old NWN is, and that it was the aurora engine's first outing. Look how far it's come since then. Various improvements to the engine for NWN's expansions, KoTOR + TSL, NWN2, The Witcher..... Heck, the engine's got plenty years left in it.

Besides, the OP is obviously one of those people who bases the quality of a game on how eye-pleasing it is.

True. I seem to be reliving allot of these games at the moment that i missed first time around, and slipped through my net. Recently I only played KOTOR 1 & 2 for the 1st times ever, and they were very good indeed. Infact i think i enojyed KOTOR 1 better than 2, but they were both pleasing on the eye. I just felt KOTOR 1 had better/more interesting side/main quest. However I think the graphics of NWN 2 spoilt me when it comes to the NWN seires. So when i got NWN 1 it was a bit like, having played Oblivion, then going back to play say Morrowind for the first time. Although, I am sure the story etc in NWN 1. more than makes up for the lack of graphical quality. Overall I prefer a balance, a game that looks decent(like NWN 2), and doesnt have to have gorund breaking graphics, just as long as it has a good/varied story to it.
