Peter Molyneux, the much-loved creative at the head of Lionhead Studios, the Fable series and games like Black and White, has tweeted that he will be leaving the developer and Microsoft behind to join a new company.
"I have left the lovely amazing Microsoft and lionhead," reads the tweet. "Now for something really amazing, scary and brave a new company called 22 Cans." Nothing is known of this new venture yet.
This news comes just one day after the announcement of a new game in the Fable series, Fable Heroes for XBLA.
This is Molyneux's first Tweet since November last year - seems he only uses it for things that are REALLY important. We've reached out to Molyneux and Microsoft for comment.
Rather surprised at this, especially with those two new Fable games in the works. Although, those two Fable games could be the reason he's leaving the studio. Either way, I'm interested in seeing what this new studio can do. I'm sure a spiritual sequel to Populous would be welcomed by many.
Feel me. Do I feel pretty?
