Hello everyone. Im a older gamer and my wife and I love RPGs that have great stories. We love all the final fantasy series and I know 12 is coming out soon. We also enjoyed Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Trigger and Cross, and a few others. We want to buy more RPGs. Only requirments is that its a great story. Final Fantasy 10 is our all time favorite with FF7 in close 2nd. That may give you an idea of what we are looking for. Anything that can make us laugh and cry would be good. I dont know what is on the market currently so Im asking for help. Thanks!

Yeah My all time favorite rpg story wise is FF7 for sure. Story wise I dont think youll find anything good on the current market. Perhaps the elder scrolls oblivion but even then I didnt find that the story was all that good. Neverwinter Nights has spectacular gameplay and the storyline has some good twists and turns.
For storyline, BioWare usually nails it. Try KOTOR, Jade Empire, Baldur's Gate, or NWN. PS, I loved Legend of Dragoon back when it came out. I played through it twice, one spending over 70 hours to get all my chars to max level/dragoon level, full Stardust, and trying to learn all the additions (I failed there). That storyline was awesome, though, I still have the themesong somewhere on my C:/
Fable is supposed to be decent, too.
If You're a FF fan you could try the newly came out, FF7 Dirge of Cerebrus ( although it's more of Action/RPG)
You could also try Xenosaga episode 1 and episode 3.
Baldur's Gate I and II Neverwinter Nights (A second one is coming out soon) KOTOR Morrowind and Oblivion
Though the games I listed above operate differently than the FF system, so I'm not sure if those will all be your piece of the pie.
BTW, what systems do you have? This may help a bit in getting some games.
If you've ever heard of kingdom hearts , It's really fun.
I'd reccommend you played Kingdom Hearts, it's surprisingly addictive.
