Um... yeah. I have a bit of a problem. My PS2 won't read the blue (or copy-protected) discs, and the problem is, I've become somewhat... addicted... to some of the games on blue discs. And the problem is, I don't have enough money to buy a new PS2. Please help me fix it before I regain touch with reality...

This happened to me a year and a half ago. I got just the thing for you... have your tools ready ;) http://www.g4techtv.com/xplay/features/45797/PlayStation_2_Disc_Read_Error_Fix.htmlThat should have your discs running properly. :nodding: Tell us how it went after you're through.

My friend had this problem. What is happening is the blue disc is heavier than the normal DVDs, thus not allowing for the dock to pick it up as easily for reading. What i did is put two pieces of masking tape on either side of the hole on the top of the disc, allowing for more friction so the dock may easily pick it up and read it.

Hope that helps.

well it might be turning faulty i had that a year ago and i sold it for 40 quid on e-bay and if its a disk read error you should proberbly send it away for a new laser or pick one up somewhere and you may have to take your ps2 apart

A temporary fix could be to turn it on it's side. At least, that has worked for me.

Putting it on the carpet is bad news as well.
