Well, im really interested in purchasing a PS3. This isn't a discussion on whether i should purchase a PS3 or an X360.

Of course, i have no thought in purchasing a 60GB PS3, as i don't see the point. Me being a 'super saver', im thinking about getting a 20GB PS3. But in comparison to 40GB and 60GB, what am i loosing? Yes i know space.. but for what? I don't think for one second that save games are over 100MB let alone GB.. So why on earth would you want a 40GB capacity or a 60GB for that matter? What can you do with 40/60 that you can't do with 20? I know.. space, space, space.. but for what!?

Am i missing something out? I lack with intelligence when it comes to the latest playstation. Please fill me in with juicy gossip. I just need to know if getting the 20GB would be good, and what other possibilities 40GB and 60GB give me.

Depends on what you want in the system, if your just looking to play games get a 20 gig and buy a €50 gig harddrive for a laptop and install it on your ps3 to give you 120 gigs.

in my opinion there are three really big reasons to get the 60 GB ps3

  1. The 60 GB model has no issues with backwards combatibility at all but you may not even care in which case 40 GB would suit you fine if you dont mind selling all your ps1/2 games
  2. Wi-fi; this is great just in the since you don't have to run 50ft cables through your house anymore depending on where your ether net hub is.
  3. the 20 GB model is a bit striped down compared to the other models, eg less usb ports and other slots.

And as far as saving, you could very easily use up 20GB fast. Depending on the game and how well their optimized *cough*DMC4, Oblivion*cough* you could have 5GB installs and thats 1/2 your harddrive. i bileave im useing 30GB right now, and as Mihail pointed you can upgrade your harddrive on your ps3 at any time with any laptop harddrive. Been thinking my self about getting a 250GB drive.
