So, let me lay out the situation first.

My current WL account uses Dawn of War 2's CD-Key. I have other games that require WL, and their CD-Keys have not been used to make an account.

What if by some reason, my current account gets banned. Can I use the other CD-keys to make a new account?

If I could, could this account play Dawn of War 2's multiplayer? Like can 1 cd key redeem another game etc. etc.

I'm just asking, since I mod some of them games and incase GFWL decides that MODS ARE HACKS OR CHEATS, and bans the hell out of me.

Yes the funny thing with games for windows live is you can let you friends use the cd-key and well you can play online together don't hold me to this though as i've only tried it in halo 2 and GTA 4. There also seems to be no activation limit the cd-keys seem to be more just proof of owning the game then anything else. Also i use my xbox gamer tag and the one i made for the pc for both games and they both work fine. Also it seems the cd-key is related to the computer and not you live account. Sorry for this post being so long and complicated as i'm just about to fall asleep.

What game(s) are you interested in modding that require GFWL?

I played Fallout 3 fully modded to hell and back with GFWL and never had any issues. AFAIK all it really does it give you achievement points for your Live account.

Fyurii;5412022What game(s) are you interested in modding that require GFWL?

Red Faction Guerrilla, Dawn of War 2.

Possibly dead rising 2.

I've modded Fallout 3 heavily before, but its been like a year or two? I sorta remember there was something to disable GFWL for FO3 and it being mod-able afterwards. Which is highly different from the 3 games above as there's nothing to disable GFWL, and I remember the FOSE or was it mod manager being able to start FO3 without GFWL as well...

Main point is, I just want to know if e.g. Red Faction's CD-Key can create another account which can play DoW2 if my DoW2 account gets banned.

I think its because of that starcraft 2 thing, where they were riding hard on hackers, and I saw some comments of people arguing and some was about modding starcraft 2 and it got me on edge. So I'm kinda worried a bit now.

Unless things have drastically changed since i created mine, You don't use your CD-Key to create a GFWL account. You account is tied to your email address. If you have a Xbox Live gamertag thats what you should have used since it adds achievement points for some games.

*The.Doctor;5412262You don't use your CD-Key to create a GFWL account. You account is tied to your email address.

But you do need to enter your cd-ley, and if you get banned, so is your account.

I doubt that they will ban you for mods, unless it's an online mod/hack. And that would be the server, not microsoft really. Also, using an old version of GFW works better anyway for me. But you really need to fully un-install your current GFW install, or it wont work.
