Greetings everyone, Here's the deal: My dad is a huge NASCAR fan, so for Christmas, my sister & I are buying him a PS2 + NASCAR game. To make sure he has the best NASCAR experience possible, we also want to buy him a good racing wheel. But which one should we buy? There seems to be loads of them out there which makes it all the more difficult to decide. Can anyone out there make a recommendation? Price isn't so important, we just want to get him one that will make the experience as real as possible. Please note that chances are that he will only ever play the NASCAR game so we'd like a wheel that works the best with it. Many thanks in advance!

that is for the pc, but i should workj with ps2 as it is USB. I have that wheel, it isnt the best one though. If i wanted the best and most realistic nascar expeirience i would buy a good pc wheel, and nascar 2003 season for PC, that game is awsome.

Now there is someone who knows what he is talking about! There is NO curent NASCAR game for a console that is any good. The EA ones are kiddie racers at best. Grab him a copy of NR2003 season for $10.00 and a MOMO wheel. OR if you are feeling froggy, go to Thomas Super Wheels and get a REAL REAL good one. I currently use the Logitech MOMO.. it's a good wheel but no where near as good as those Thomson's! Trust me, as a NASCAR fan do not buy him any console NASCAR game, he will not like it if he is a true fan and likes SIMS. I play NR2003 online with 42 other racers and that game is just awesome to say the least.

TIKINascar 2004 is horrible

2004 is a "fun" kiddie racer, it's kinda fun with friends just messing around. NR2003 isa SIM, it's not "fun" it's HARD and takes practice and skill to compete online. The physics are the BEST I have ever seen.

EA is supposadly working on a PC SIM for NASCAR, and has hired the ex employees from paparyuis (the makers of NR2003) so.... we will see what they have come up with.

http://www.first-racing.net/index.php? is the papys new project... THAt is gonna ROCK for us SIMMERS!!

Thanks everyone for the great tips. I ended up getting the Logitech MOMO wheel. The Thomas wheels looked super cool, but were way beyond our price range! Thanks also for the reviews of the various NASCAR games. There are so many out there, it's hard to know which one to get. I think my sister has bought him NASCAR 2005 (PS2) -- does anyone know anything about it? I did see NASCAR 2003 (PS2) on sale used, so maybe I'll pick that up as well, as it seems to be considered good. Even though it sounds like the PC versions of the NASCAR games are better than the console versions, my dad is not very good with PCs, so it makes more sense to get him a console. It'll fit better in his NASCAR room too, with his big TV for watching the races, etc. Thanks again for the help!
