I have it, don't play it very often though. Good game, especially if you can find a good server with players who are willing to work as a team.

I use to play it but got bored of it because I was no good at it (no crosshairs etc.) It was too real :( I was considering the Source one before but it didnt look that much different to the UT mod so I didnt buy it.

I play it kinda often, its ann alright game though the weapons system is clunky and retarded. pressing fire again to work the bolt? what tactical advantage does that have in terms of game play? if they were going to be that uptight about the handling of weapons you should have to repeatedly press the reload button to engage each aspect of the process, pulling back the breech, dropping the mag, inserting another mag, locking the breach forward (or charging back depending on the weapon) etc... They picked and choose what they wanted to be realistic on and ended up not realistic at all in most ways...

You press again to work the bolt in case you have to use your bayonet/bash if you miss.

Red Orchestra is not for everybody, but once you get used to it, it's pretty fun. The game has been made much easier since its mod days from UT2003/4.

i understand the theory behind it being if you want to suddenly use the bayonet, but considering the bayonet will only kill if you charge the SOB for 2 seconds or so i dont see the advantage of having a delayed round ready to fire over an ineffective poke. ive killed plenty of guys who fired, missed and charged me while i simply shot them a second time. Cant recall any time when i felt "whew, good thing i didnt waste half a second working the bolt, i might not have stabbed that guy in time"

I play RO sometimes and i like it a lot but yeah i do sorta agree with East on the manual bolting. i think it was better in the mod when they had auto bolting. the very least they should do is make the bolt action key different than the fire key, i hate it when i forgot i already worked the bolt and waste a round. I think RO's major weak point is the maps, and it has been ever since the mod days. it needs better infantry and combined arms maps imo.

It looked like a fun game, but I saw my bro play it and I lost intress, not my kind of game. I like arcadic games, realistic games are my thing in single player.

I guess its ooookey, but not more then that. I have it and I played it a lot the first couple of days I had it. Then I got the bug that made my computer reboot every single time I tried to start the game, and due to that I lost interest in the game. I think they fixed the bug now, becasue I could play for the first time for a long time, a couple of days ago. But the feeling was gone, and the game reminds to much of CS, with its fast turns etc etc.

I played it during the free trial. It was fun and was pretty realistic and I am a huge fan of realistic games. Eventually I took it off my computer because I just wasn't playing enough.
