When the installations for games were really fanciful, like C&C Renegade's where they would show like a mission briefing same to RA2?

The newer game installations are just agreements, browse where you want your folder and install (some with CD-key requests).

The older ones like 3-4 years back had those detailed installations where they wanted you to immerse yourself with the game? I'm sure many people remembered Red Alert 2's installation where it has a briefing, and the whole thing's like a console command.

Stop! I miss those days... The innocent gaming days... The days when EA didn't have so much pull over the Command and Conquer series—

I remember Renegade's (or was it Soldier of Fortune 2?). I always had to mute the damn speakers during that installation because the non-optional sounds they played made it impossible to do anything else at the same time. x.X

Not that I didn't appreciate the gesture, but I'd have preferred if it had been optional. A 'mute' checkbox would've been reaaaally handy.

I do agree, the Renegade install movie is really loud!

I've always liked the Call of Duty series installations. The soundtrack going on in the background, and the slide show of scenes.
