I'm a huge Resident Evil fan. I been hearing a bunch of good things about RE and ED. I havn't had the chance to buy ED cause I still need money for the other great games coming out later this year. I will rent it when ever I get the chance, but should I put off Mario+Fox for Eternal Darkness, or is RE better anyway??:uhoh: Please help

First off: I think you should have payed for these games WAY in advance, I mean, all my games are payed, and have been since April or so, I saved up :D

2nd: Save your money, ED is a good game, but hey, we are talkin Mario and Zelda and Metroid here, at least wait a while.

3rd: That picture is very disturbing

In my opinion Eternal Darkness is the 2nd best game on the 'Cube after Smash Bros. but I haven't played Resident Evil so I could be completley wrong. If you can find some way to scrounge up enough money for it and still get Mario and Fox then I would buy it.

Eternal Darkness is good, not great IMO. The sanity meter stuff's neat and all.. but I think Resident Evil is better. Resident Evil has more replay value. After beating ED, I don't really see the point in going through it all again. In RE though, there's lots of stuff to unlock... and the graphics in RE are just too good. That's just my opinion though.

Oh man, I really don't agree that Resident Evil has replay value at all. It would be neat and scary to go through it again, but the stuff you unlock is just stupid. You go through it once to unlock a harder mode, which unlocks an even harder mode, which unlocks a mode where all the zombies are invisible. Finally, you can wear crazy costumes while shooting and/or running away from zombies you can't even see. You're definitely right about the graphics though. Wow.

To answer your question though, they're not similar at all when it comes to playing, so it's like comparing any other two random games. If you already own RE, you may have had enough creeping yourself out for a little while, but you should at least try ED. It's probably not what you expect.

I'd say wait for Mario (one week!) and Starfox.
