it is possible if the writers wanted to they could bring him back with sci-fi anything is possible and with seeing Dr Beckett talking with Mckay at the end of the episode 'Sunday' that leaves an opening which could led to him coming back ie he could of acended and i think that Paul would be more than willing to go back into the role if he was asked.
btw im Scottish to lol ^^
gate wold says "leaving regular cast" so he could come back as a guest or he might have a place in the third series.
yea hope they don't do the alternate universe story that has been way over done makes ok episodes but its predictable and seeing a Doctor return because of an alternate timeline would be copying sg-1 to much
I wish people would stop making such big deals out of events on television. Carson died. Big deal. The whole idea of making some internet campaign with a so-called "mission" to save this TV show character and even hope that they're going to make a difference is not only childish, but pathetic. I'm sorry, but this "Save Carson Beckett" thing is not going to go anywhere.
It's basically running around in circles, hoping that something different will happen each time.
[/another Stargate rant]
Thats not exsactly true in Stargate SG-1 when Daniel Jackson died fans formed a save Daniel Campaign and the writers listened to them and the campaign worked and a season later Daniel was back in the series so that proves they can be successful. That site is still around which can prove it
just read some thing. ," Flanigan said. "Basically, it will be like a 'soft' reset on a ton of issues." never know what will hapen

I'm sure it did.
But there are specific circumstances to this situation. Paul didn't get fired for no reason. There were problems relating to several Stargate actors' contracts, and problems relating to budget, and what I think is a good solution. Stargate SG-1's extra season had cost money. Plus, a bunch of actors had to renew their contracts, some of them exceeding the timeframe of SG-1's final season, which also costs money. Then, they added Carson to Atlantis' primary cast. This raised Paul's salary, which costs even more money.
Extra Season + Actor's Contracts + Higher Castmember Salary = Lots o' Cash.
With a budget like this, killing off Carson was "probably a good idea".
Now enters Jewel Staite (Paul's replacement). Jewel is a better choice than Paul, for these two reasons:
- She is probably not going to be a primary cast member, like Carson was for a while. Lower salary = good.
- She just happens to have a fanbase of her own already from Firefly, before she joined Stargate. This will attract Firefly viewers to Atlantis. So many people are now watching TV show episodes from the Internet, getting viewers is "rather important".
- She isn't too bad looking either. *ahem* :lookaround:
I think that the best way to look at this situation is rather clear: these aren't the droids you're looking for. Move along. :uhm:
I didn't make it!
Now that Carson is dead the only thing we can do now is save the turtles. Interesting fact technically according to Gateworld he is going to be a recurring character. Meaning he ascended somehow or we are going to be seeing lots of AU versions of him.
Is Aiden Ford really dead, sure he was on a ship that exploded five minutes after we last saw him last but that doesn't mean he is dead, he could have taken one of the hyperdrive capible scout ships or a ancient captured puddle jumper or something else (hive ships are big and have a many possible secrets).
poor becket why do they kill of the loverble docs first frasier now becket.
