Empire Earth - true unit customisability and indefinite unit numbers. DoW - best RTS ever.

Don't make me laugh. Seriously. Anywho, I like RoN much more than I like any other RTS. It's more about waging war as a whole, rather than just cloning soldiers from barracks and just attacking opposing forces.

Heh, cloning was great in Red Alert 2...build one, get the second for free! you quickly had a large army and you could even clone your special units which were normally limited to one. Generals I liked a lot. It is easy to use, and is fun in skirmish. Rise of Nations, on the other hand, was way too complicated. It would take me 2 days just to dip into the gameplay mechanics...so I said "meh" and played generals.

hmm anything with the C&C labal on it pretty much owns any other RTS :p hmm i thought RON was a complete ripoff of empire earth, which is alot better.

the C&C tag lost meaning when red alert 2 came out.

Original doesn't always mean best. I find the C&C games to be too simplistic for my tastes, though I have only played three of them. There's very little strategy involved/required, especially with Generals, when you get online and play against the ten year olds who invariably clog up most of the servers. And RoN is nothing like Empire Earth apart from the fact that it uses epochs, which a lot of RTS games do.
