I've heard some reports that Second Life has f***ed up in a big way. Anyone got any details or can confirm that what I have heard is true?
I searched news and Wikipedia, and didn't see anything about it. Where did you hear this, and what exactly did they supposedly do?
I'll post the article that I found:

Well, they SHOULD!
I lost $400 US in glitches, someone else lost $350 in glitches.
[UPDATE: Wednesday, July 25 4:47PM PDT] For those of you who find logging into the Knowledge Base to be sort of kludgy (and I know it is — we’ll find a better way!), I’ve pasted the text of the policy and FAQ below.
Several months ago we discussed the issue of gambling in Second Life (R) in a blog post, and at that time we let you know that we would no longer accept any classified ads, place listings, or event listings that appear to relate to simulated casino activity.
While Linden Lab does not offer an online gambling service, Linden Lab and Second Life Residents must comply with state and federal laws applicable to regulated online gambling, even when both operators and players of the games reside outside of the US. And, because there are a variety of conflicting gambling regulations around the world we have chosen to restrict gambling in Second Life as described in a revised policy which is posted in the Knowledge Base under “Policy Regarding Wagering in Second Life”.

Yeah baby. BURN BABY BURN

Ah, yeah, I've heard news that Second Life had to disallow gambling in the game, but... the world doesn't revolve around that, so, I don't really see what the big deal is...?
Thats what I said. Thats why I posted on here. I was just wondering if anyone had any details.
So, a bunch of people lost money gambling and now there pissed?

What exactly were the "glitches"? Nothing you've posted so far has sounded like a glitch.
I have no idea. I played it once and noticed how gay the graphics and the game was. Frankly I don't really care what happens to Second Life. If they lose alot of people then oh well. Maybe they should keep updating the game and fix the glitches.

No, there are all sorts of laws governing online gambling, and it varies from state to state. I remember hearing a year or two ago about a large online gambling site being shut down because of legal issues.
Lol, Second Life was gay anyway.... but in a way, it made me respect my first life better.... no constant lag, sucky models, gay animations, FLYING, and many other things.
Glad about this, down with gay free MMORPG's. If your gonna make it free, do like Guild Wars.

Yes i know that, and i read in the article about the legal issues they were having, but it did sound that the way it sounded since Gatecrusher was saying about people losing money.
