(To Mods: If this is on or over the fence, let me know. If in wrong forum, please move it.) Ahem. Now, let's get to it, shall we? Sex in games whas become horrid over the years. The things they're trying to sell to kids these days is just gross. It all started with Custers Revenge back in who knows when. Then, Liesure suit Larry 1-Magna cum Laude (cool series, I must admit). And now, with Hot Coffee for GTA San Andreas, it's just incredible how things have spiraled downward over the years. There is just one thing I've been thinking about. Sex is a part of life. It's natural. So, why rate games M or AO because of it? I mean, I can understand the "youth" aspect of it, but for adults (well, teens and adults now) it's natural. Just something to think about.

The games are striving to become pornos a 12 year old can buy in the game store and hit it to them. Kids don't need to be learning about this stuff at the age they are since don't seem to take it maturly.

Kids are going to learn it no matter what. There is no "learning" in video games, just pure entertainment. Sex in video games is nothing more than hilarious. Some people need to get a grip and over themselves ;)

EDIT:

I heard an experience today about two boys who play the porno games their dad rents/buys. They were caught in a womans pool taking her daughter's top off. Apparently, her daughter is gorgeous, too. I felt sorry for her.

And we all know a video game is to blame for that

Okay, I'll give you that. I heard an experience today about two boys who play the porno games their dad rents/buys. They were caught in a womans pool taking her daughter's top off. Apparently, her daughter is gorgeous, too. I felt sorry for her.

Same reason they rate movies with sexual content and nudity rated R.

well, teens and adults now

Teens now dont know nothing about sex, most of them are just thumping rabbits. game rating are a great idea, now they just need to enforce it like movies. haa i still get carded for a R rated movie. Sex in games is like sex on tv,radio and crap. Yeah it makes it sell, but at what cost?

And some kids can't tell the differnce between reality and a game. Also young kids are very impressionable to this kind of stuff. They they were not then there would be no need for ratingswinkx.gif.

What's the point of such a discussion? The kids will get the games they want anyway. And if they don't they'll just turn on TV and see violence and sex there. Wouldn't it make more sense to hand out some little prison-terms to parents who don't manage to educate their kids? I find it disgusting how politicians, who have no clue at all about what they talk, try to gain public support by blaming all of socities mistakes on the next scapegoat they can find.

Sex is a natural part of life yes, married life. There really is no place in video games for that kind of stuff. Teens don't need to see that kind of crap it only encourages immoral behavior. Honesty there is enough of that kind of stuff around today and we don't need anymore.

First off, they're not selling these games to kids, they're selling them to adults. Leisure Suit Larry, GTA and the like have 18 certificates. If kids are getting their hands on them regardless, look towards the parents. And they don't need these ratings at all. If it weren't for people like those in the above who ride their high-horses all day while carrying their moral absolutes (which are always right, by the way), they wouldn't need these ratings. If ratings are your problem, look towards these guys -- they're the ones who play hell with games like that.
