Some of you might know, others might not but I have a younger bro who is mentally disabled with Down Syndrome [among other problems]. He plays on the N64, Gamecube and our recent addition, the Wii.
He likes games with cinematics, simple controls and most of all "button mashers." His fav games are of the super hero variety like Spiderman, Batman, etc and also cartoon stuff like Scooby Doo [god help us all].
He's not too keen on following on-screen directions and he can't read the game manuals so my older bro and I help him out when he gets stuck in his games but it'd be nice for him to have a game to play where he can see he's doing it right and the game progresses. This is the big thing, that the game is simple and moves forward. Simplicity is key here.
I'm looking for ANY recommendations for the Wii platform, he plays that the most and he's pretty good at it actually. He can use both controllers and I created a large chart on cardboard for him to better see the game controls [A button, B button, etc] because he squints a lot [he won't wear glasses but that's another story.].
Can I get some help here, please? Thanks a lot.
I don't know what I'm doing

Perhaps Super Smash Brothers Brawl? I've never played it (I've played the first two games in the series, though), but it looks pretty simple and fun.
if he is looking for random button mashers, isnt MK VS DC coming out? or get soulcalubr 4 or 5? was it.

I knew someone was going to call a fighting game a "button masher." There's far to it than just mashing buttons.
The game on the Gamecube or Wii I can think of are Mario Galaxy, have you tried that?

its what my brother does and he beats me everytime:rolleyes:
We have the Smash Bros games. Galaxy is a bit beyond him. Those other fighter games, you think those might be good options?

yep, i PERSONALLY think that most fighting games are the same. so any game would do. like the soul calibur series.
oh wait. how about geometry wars? you know. that little game where you go around blasting shapes in pretty colorful explosions.
Yeah we'll see.
We're actually going out to lunch as a family and hopefully he'll get a new game. He keep talking about some Justice League: Virtue of the Sword game. I'll look up reviews for that and see if it's even on the Wii platform.
The really sad thing is that he sees commercials about the games and he doesn't know what platforms we have, like he sees a Hulk or Batman commercial for a game and he thinks all games run on the Wii....
