Ya know - I'm getting quite tired of Blizzard putting all their energy and time into this damn World of Warcraft. Ok, so I downloaded the 10 day free trial thing, played it, and lost interest by day 6. It's a very very well done game and is pretty fun but you'd have to be HARDCORE to actually make the monthy amount worth it (like at least 5 or 6 hours a day every day)...

Why cant Blizzard go back to what made it famous and loved by its fans in the first place? Where's Diablo III? Where's Starcraft II? Where in the world is Warcraft IV?

Those are the games that I love and ALOT of other people love. I'd really like to see an updated version of both the Diablo series and the Starcraft series...Starcraft: Ghost didnt cut it...it was trash...they should've kept to RTS rather then 3rd person Splinter Cell type gameplay.

Using such improved RTS factors like the ones which Company of Heroes uses (i.e. destructable environments, highly detailed units, rag doll physics, etc) a new Warcraft or Starcraft would be AMAZING and probably earn more praise and money than WoW could ever.

But Blizzard chooses not too...and this makes me sad...

It's purely a matter of taste. I despise RTS games in any way shape or form, and managed to play WoW for a good year or so before it got boring... and I'm considering getting the expansion. I do hate Blizzard for being such tight-fisted gits, though.

Blizzard makes far more money with WoW than with other games, so logically they concentrate their efforts on online-games. If you think about it, Starcraf, Warcraft and Diablo were great games, but what made them really famous was how well they worked as multiplayer-games, WoW is just the next step.

As far as I know Blizzard is already working on another MMORPG which has nothing to do with the Warcraft-universe

As far as I'm concerned, Blizzard is still the best gaming company out there.

Come on now, true as that may be we all know (as do they) that Diablo III would sell like freakin' hotcakes! A new Starcraft and Warcraft RTS would do pretty well too. I know that I'd buy all 3, and plenty of my gaming friends would also buy them. That's even more money they can milk out of the WoW freaks, as most of them would buy them too.

I don't mind Blizzard working on MMORPG's, but it's not like their entire company has to focus on them. And for all we know, all those possible sequels are being worked on right now. They seem really good at keeping their secrets over there. I think we just need to be patient. But I must admit they are sure taking their time if indeed those titles are coming.

I too tried WoW and it's just not my type of game, nor are any other MMORPG's. I just don't have the time to dedicate to something like that. Strangely though my wife, who rarely games, plays WoW. Go figure.

btw - Starcraft/Warcraft with some CoH game elements makes me drool... And Diablo III? Forget about it! I'm sooo there! :bows:

I dont care whats happened to Blizzard except for the fact that battlenet for diablo is the worst gaming experience I've ever had. Its always crashing, its never stable, I always drop connection or fail to enter a game. Its not a problem with my internet connection, I quit Diablo, turn on some downloads and stuff is going really fast.

Diablo III would be great, as long as the online is still free, its the only reason I still play it. If I wanted to pay monthly, I wouldnt be playing Diablo.

I'm hoping for Starcraft II or Warcraft IV, Warcraft More, because Warcraft II was my first game, I'm a devoted Warcraft and Blizzard Fan, but I hate World of Warcraft. [QUOTE][As far as I'm concerned, Blizzard is still the best gaming company out there. /QUOTE] He speaks the truth!

I think I remember hearing or seeing something about how Blizzard is somewhat rejoining and looking for more additions to their Diablo team...so a Diablo III would be within the next few years maybe? I can only hope so...Diablo series pretty much made the whole dungeon crawler/fantasy RPG famous so why shouldnt it live on?!

The only problem may be if they screw it up. If diablo III were to be released and it were a flop, the community would complain. Some things are better left un-sequeled (hmmm. how odd it being diablo II and all that...). If it were good however, they could leave it at 3 and make a trilogy. Personally I think that they should wait a bit, then try to exploit the new Vista Dx10 if they are going to do it. I have a feeling that a lot of games may do that.

That's very true....I mean...how many possible times could you kill Diablo over and over again? Yet - where would he go if you killed him? Back to hell to just try and take over the world again? It would be cool if they made a Diablo III but then went in a very different direction story wise...like some sort of higher/other evil

exploit the new Vista Dx10

I know Vista is the new Microsoft OS but what is Dx10?

Indeed, Blizzard needs to remember its casual gamer-base who are not willing to spend 5 hours per day in the Forest, killing boars to level. A new Warcraft RTS, if it included some of the maps, storylines and units seen in WoW (Like the Dark Elves or whatever they are... Shadow Elves? Blood Elves?) would make a killer game that would bring in a lot of profits and reestablish their old RTS fanbase.
