Hey guys, my boredom over these holidays have led me away from my fps game and onto TALES OF MONKEY ISLAND!! Just reminded me of the good ol days playing the Space Quest Series and Kings Quest also, so i was looking to bring back my early childhood and start the adventure again! So im looking for some kind of emulator or dos program or something that i can install and play them through?
Cheers in advance
DOSbox is what you're looking for. :nodding:
You can also buy the Space Quest Collection and King's Quest Collection, each coming with a launcher that allows them to run in XP.
Ahhhh sweet as!! Thanks so much.:)
I still have the original full collection of both Space and Kings Quest they have been collecting dust until now!
here is a guide to get you started with dosbox
In windows click the folder games and see if there are intructions or an install program.
If it looks ready to go open dosbox. c: cd \"Documents & Settings" cd (user name) cd Desktop cd Games lemmings or whatever the game start command is.
DOSBOX FTW!!!, I love playing the old games like Major Stryker, Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade etc.

You know, you can change directories from several levels at a time in a single command... To use your example, you may as well enter : cd %homepath%\desktop\games
Or wherever it is you put your game files, provided you got on the right drive.
Well, there's a set of five episodes being made and will be available through Steam over five months, all brand new stuff.
Also, the first game is being re-released in an updated form. It only took them nine months to update it! It'll be available in about a week or so iirc.
An alternative to Dosbox would be the SCUMM emulator.
Works for more than just Mokey Island too!
Virtual machines running real good old MS-DOS or FreeDOS should work fine too, btw ^^
