I'm spending a year dead for tax reasons.

I'm just looking at the latest screenshots from E3 of Sonic Rivals at http://e3.filefront.com/
Looks like a much more traditional in style Sonic Game to me actualy, strangely enough. That said Sonic Team are usualy good at making you expect a great game then delivering on dissapointment.
That said I have Elmo scouting the Sega booth and I hope he reports in shortly :p

I agree - it looks like a trip back to Sonic The Hedgehog 2, which was in my opinion the last decent one (it was on the Megadrive). Only 3D, and much better graphics.
The cake is a lie. There is no cake.

Yeah. I mean, from what I've seen, the new Sonic games to seem to have some element of "back to basics"...but that will be a wait and see.
looks very primitive, not something I would expect to show up on never consoles (PS2 pehabs, but even there it would look primitive), but could be fun nontheless
sonic was always kick ass i still got the sega version working no emulater strate sega to TV.
I dunno it looks cool I mean it looks REAL cool. But it may be a flop I still want it anyways even if I have to buy a new system
Glad to see that Shadow is still playing a role. He may not be the series' badass anymore, but he still provides a nice contrast to Sonic nevertheless.
Here's to hoping they don't screw up with Knux, Tails and Amy this time, provided they appear in this instalment - they felt like they were only added as afterthoughts in the last few games.
It'd definitely be nice to see everything go back to the good ol' days, before Perfect Chaos, The ARK, Metal Sonic and the Black Arms. Sonic 3 & Knuckles pretty much had the formula nailed down. It was, and still is, the best of the series IMO.
Can't wait for more info, though. Seems like it might be a good, fun game.
As for that screenie, can anyone say "Green Hill Zone"? :)
I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.
