After a long time of waiting for what was made out to be the best spider-man video game yet, i gotta say i am a little bit disappointed after playing the pc version for about 30 - 40 mins. Dont get me wrong though, i say this not because the game is bad in gameplay and such, but mainly because of the performance, firstly let me say i have a pretty decent machine, it handles games which requires more than what spider-man 3 needs, so why the terrible FPS ? bad game coding maybe, (just a guess). Hopefully i am not the only one suffering from this. Anyways, maybe some of you fellow PC gamers out there could give us some info about patches and such since this game has great potential !

Also - looking forward to the premiere of the actual spider-man 3 movie this friday !

I'm pretty sure the game dosnt come out till friday:confused: well atleast i know it dosn't in North America or are you playing a demo? Well anyways I'd suggest just waiting for some patches...its probably not your pc but the game it self. Think you could give some of your thoughts of the game?:naughty: EDIT: Actually I just noticed the huge price differnce between the 360 version and the PC version...now I know thats normal and all but almost a $40 differnce is a major one...so oviously they didnt put as much work into the PC version ALSO for Spider-man 2 the pc version was actually a totally differnt game compaired to the PS2 version, I guess the PC one was for younger kids...maybe its the same?

No.Spiderman 3 the game for PC is identical to the 360 version. No changes. (therfore its a very awesome game).But...the game engine is not optomised very well at all and several people with 2 8800GTX'S cant handle the game or play smoothly at all.I however can play well on high settings if it wasnt for this very strange rendering issue with buildings that just dissappear and my FPS goes down to like 5...Seems like a hit/miss as to who can play the game well right now.

I guess we should just wait for a patch then....

I have a X1950 XT, and it runs fine for me, with the occasional stutter here and there as it streams NYC. How much RAM you got? That can easily affect non-linear levels...

PC Chipmunk I guess we should just wait for a patch then....

You really think there will be one? Most console ports won't have patches simply because patches aren't done often for console games. Take Ultimate Spiderman for example, no patches there, and that's a console port. I guess we shall wait and see.

I've cracked it! Something that didn't occur to me until now was the sound being the cause... go to Start>Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices. Under the Speakers box, click Advanced then Performance, and set the audio acceleration to 'Basic'. Enjoy your smoother swinging! (I do not guarantee this works on every computer, but I have seen a 10fps increase on mine).

This happens a lot with games these days. Sound causes lag and performance issues sometimes. When checking and tuning a game, don't forget to test the sound. ;)
