Wrong forum? I have Steam, and I'm eyeing CSS (don't say anything). I played the guest pass version I got from a friend and I quite enjoyed it. But one thing is bothering me. Should I delete CSS (accident or necessary), will I be able to re-download it without paying again? Or do I have to cough up some more money to get it a second time? Also, if the above is true, would I be able to download it again from another computer (may be getting a new one relatively soon)? These are a few things I was wondering about.

You have an account and you have games you paid for there and should be able to download them anytime from your account. At least mine works that way.

That's not quite what I meant. I know it's in the "My Games" list. But what I'm trying to say is that if it should be deleted from said list for some reason, do I redownload it and pay or is it free after that? And the other thing is if I can do it on another computer.

If you paid for it once on your account, you won't have to pay for it again.

If any problems arise that lead to you losing information and whole/portions of games, you can have them downloaded again for no charge.

My mate regularly does a clean install of everything on his PC every three months, and also backs up his main PC to his secondary one, including his Steam files, should anything go horribly wrong with his primary PC.

So long as it's your Steam account, you shouldn't have any problems re-downloading any game you pay for and download through Steam.

I have a question as well relating to steam games. If you go into the steam directory, and delete the folders do your games still appear in the list?

Um...... Dunno:confused:

I've never done it.

You could just back them up (if you have the room to do so), then test it for yourself.....

Yes, but they appear under the "Not Installed" list. So you can't play them until you download and install the game again, luckily Steam's servers are pretty snappy, so even on a campus network I've seen 300~400kb/s download.
