How many of you have gone into a game store with your console games to trade them in?
I know I have often, and every time I walk in the games store I walk out feeling like I’ve been ripped off. The trade price you get back from your games is a joke. They sell the games to you for say £49 but if you where to trade them in the next day you would probably get around £15
For this reason I have created a free video game swapping forum, you can add your unwanted games and see if anyone has a game you would like to swap. It is only in the UK as I hope to get enough people so you do not have to post your games, you could just find someone in your area and trade in person.
It’s been running for around 3 weeks now and things have been going great, 97 members and growing. The response I’ve had has been fantastic and some of the other members are also promoting it.
I know there is a lot of trust involved so I have setup a way where you can feel more at ease.
I`m the middle man and both swappers send there games to me and when both games have arrived I forward them. I have had one swap so far and arranging another at the moment.
Just wanted to know you guys thoughts as I suspect some of you have been around here for a long time.

This is kinda like an ad, but you left no URL to your forums.....
I dont think its illegal or anything, sounds like a good idea actually. I dont think it would work as well for PC games though (especially for multiplayer games)
Yeah, I would like to swap games for other games instead of selling.
But you see... the whole sending you the game...
somebody may not trust you..
Hey listen, I'm not challenging your integrity, I'm just saying that it's tough being the middleman these days.. I mean what's to stop you from keeping the games?
Note again that I am not accusing or think you would do this, I'm just letting you know what could happen.
You pay £49 for games? Where the hell do you buy them from? I usually pay around £25 for brand new stuff...
I totally agree with you that there is that feeling of getting ripped off when you go into a store and sell your Madden '06 for 3 bucks and see it hanging there a week later under Used titles for $30...it is a little questionable
I like your idea of swapping games...too bad your based in the UK though.
I could see some problems like Knipp mentioned...these days of ours are riddled with mistrust and people blind-siding one another...
While I dont live in the UK I somewhat know the currency of the Euro so I would say that buying a new game for 49 is a bit steep (seeing as how 1 dollar = 1.8 euro) Over here we pay at the most 59 for a brand new game...your price over there would be double that in dollars...damn
i know how u feel, i once traded in 4 brand new games and only got like 20$ for all of them together, not even enough to buy one game
Thanks guys for all your comments, and I have payed £49.99 for a xbox 360 game, oblivion collectors edition, gears of war limited edition, I know I would have payed less if I had waited for secondhand or brought off the web, but they were impulse buys. Which I got into alot of trouble with wife.
I agree with your points on trust, but i`m not going to steal a few games when the forum could be a success, And I put that option there incase anyone wants to use it. My goal is as I said before to hopefully get enough members so you do not have to post, maybe do some kind a of game swappers meetup in the local area.
Thanks again guys
£49 isn't alot Game sell brand new xbox 360 games for this, I personally think its a brilliant idea! i personally won't do it as me and my friends have a good policy of not buying games the other has and letting them borrow it after im done with it, which works well.
