Okay, so I'm installing SWAT 3, a game which I picked up cheap just a bit ago.
All is fine and dandy... but when I try to use MP, it says this:
I've phoned up tech, but all it was was a machine that wouldn't give me straight answers, or put me onto a real human.
Does this mean that someone else is using my CD Key, somehow?
Your screwed, I suggest you try e-mailing customer support.
Or maybe you made a typo?
Nope, the key is fine and dandy.
The last time I phoned customer support with an issue like this, they refused to give me a new one. :(

Have you installed the patch, it should be on the CD already? If not, just google it. I think that may be able to fix it and it is required for online play anyway.
Yup, I installed it.

I once had an issue with a CD key with a game I had bought. C&C Generals I think it was. Not only was the key not recognised by the installer, but it was even in the wrong configuration - there were too many digits for the space provided. So I e-mailed EA Games, and they gave me a new CD key. Didn't even ask me to prove that I had bought the game.
If nothing else, it's worth a try.
if they dont believe you over a telephone call(hey, you can't blame them) you might have to mail fedex it to them to prove it to them. Either that, or exchange it for another copy.
