This is something interesting that i saw on another forum and would be interesting to see here. Post the name of any game for any system, how difficult it is, the reasons why it's hard, if you've finished it, and if you want - advice on how to beat it. Here is a format that we can use: Name: (name and system) Difficulty: (easy, medium, hard, insane, throw controller/mouse against wall) Reasons: (reasons for difficulty) Advice: (advice) Beaten: (yes or no) I'll start it with this example originally written by ForteGs.exe: GAME: Commandos - Behind enemy lines DIFFICULTY: easy and hard sometimes REASONS: Most of the missions are pretty easy. But then, you get to some frustrating mission. Like, kill the Nazis at the bridge, but dont let them detonate the bomb and thus blow up the bridge, or you lose. Or the kill highly ranked german officer. The place is infested with germans. 1 alarm, and the officer flees, thus you fail the mission. ADVICE: dont do frontal attacks. pause, watch the map, and make a strategy. BEATEN: Yes, wish i had the money for the other commandos games. If you don't like this format, you can make your own.
Name: X-Wing 95 (an old game, I know. One of the first I played on my old 3-86) Difficulty: Sometimes quite "easy", but mostly hard or ridiculously hard Reasons: Your wingmans are very few (1 or 2) and incompetant, and yet you must fight hordes upon hordes of Tie-watever while doing ridiculously hard and frustrating missions. My biggest gripe was about the stormtrooper transports. The things were easy to blow up, but when they exploded they had an abit of doing a 180 degree turn and collide your ships (of course there is a mission were you must destroy at least 20 of them...). Y-Wing missions were sometime terribly hard because this starfighter handled like shit and ALWAYS had damaged systems (flight control or engine...) once it took even a little beating. And I won't talk about this mission were you are alone, and you must destroy an entire base with a Y-Wing (opposing you is a Nebulon-B frigate, 100 laser-shooting mines, douzens of TIEs, corvettes, ect.. ect..). Advice: Play the collector edition version. You do not need a DOS machine, the graphix are better (they have textures, and a more modern version of what "3d" we had back then ;) ). The game is also slightly easier than in the good old '95 version. Beaten: Mostly, after douzens (or hundreds in some case ;) ) of attempts in some particularily difficult missions.
Name: Ninja Gaiden - Xbox Difficulty: Very hard, especially later in the game Reasons: It's just that hard! No part of the game is really easy., You really have to play it to appreciate how hard it can be at times. Advice: Be prepared to get mad at this game, alot Beaten: No
Name: Pokemon pinball (gba) Difficulty: throw gameboy against wall hard Reasons: for one thing you have to get the pinball into certain areas of the pinball machine but it's incredibly hard because you must hit the ball in just the right angle for it to go in the right place. Which is the problem because a pinball machine isn't very maneuverable so gameplay becomes frustratingly hard. Advice: Do not play Beaten: you can't win, there isn't anything to unlock, you just play endless pointless rounds.
Name: WH40K: Fire Warrior (PS2) Difficulty: the AI cheats (among other things) Reasons: As this is a FSP, I get stuck carrying two weapons, both of which are about as useful as a computer without a keyboard, while the AI gets uber powerful guns. Add to that, my gun "magically" misses all the time (I'm one hell of a shot, though), while the AI always hits me. Adivce: Play this in a sound proof room, or somewhere where no one will hear you. The cursing gets excessive after a few minuets. Beaten: Well, I've beaten the paddal to hell, if that counts. Oh, wait, you mean the game. Have I beaten it? No.
Name: GTA VC-PS2 Difficulty: Easy/Hard Reasons: Incredible anoyance that Tommy cant Swim.... some people parents... also your almost always outnumbered. Advice: dont shoot 1 enemy at a time, take on 5 at a time mayber, shoot one and then keep cycling. Beaten: Yes... Barely
name; Hidden and Dangerous (PC) difficulty; ultra reactive sniper enemy AI, tons of infantry and enemy vehicles to deal with. ultrarealistic weapons reasons; I have yet to encounter a game with such evil AI than in this game, basically every enemy soldier is a sniper and will pick you off from half away in the map, the weapons are historically acurate so lots of bolt action rifles and inacurate smg. map[s are huge and the enemy can hide anywhere advise; save often , if you think you just saved, save again. every step can be your last. save your squad, if one gets killed, best restart the mission. there are only a couple of AI with good stats. capture weapons. leave all brit guns behind with the exception of the bren gun. reaction is key . give bren gun to the guy with the best reaction and place your squad in the prone position at strategic chokepoints. do the sniping yourself. leave your friendly AI to the automatic weapons. best gun in game is the ppsh and mp44. capture as many as you can. dont try to stab anyone, they will turn around and shoot you. learn the spawn points for enemy AI and park vehicles there to prevent free movement to enemy AI. beaten: yes, and its difficulty made it that much more satisfing game experience.
I didn't make it!
Name: (Super) Ghosts'n'Goblins. Difficulty: Throw controller/mouse against wall. Reasons: Fire from all directions all of the time and two hits means death + retry from scratch. Advice: Do not try on the original console. Avoid the second playthrough to preserve your sanity. Beaten: Yes, thanks to the intensive quick-save/load use.
Name: FarCry, PC Difficulty: throw controller/mouse against wall Reasons: It was so hard it was pathetic, when i first seen the game i thought its graphics where beautiful (especially for the time when it was realised) and i thought wow. Until i got up to a part in the game where all these stupid retarded mutants jump at you at the speed of sound and slice you dead. Not to mension it took nearly a whole magazine of M4 to kill one. Then i never got up to the end but apparently they come back, invisible, with rocket launches which is just a joke. Advice: Dont get it its shit Beaten: No
Sacrafice - PC Easy and throw mouse against wall Reason - Last level that main guy can just run over souls and pick them up it takes you a good minute to pick them up. You can hurt him until you destroy all of his main points and he steals you souls. Advice: Honestly dont know please give me advice on how to beat him Beaten: No
