I can do this in other games too. I cannot, however, run this game, and have not the slightest passing interest. So I should not buy Far Cry 2.
You can do that in BF 1942 also. And BF2, and BFV, BF2142, BF:BC, ET:QW, Crysis, and just about any other game that has vehicles. You can even do that in some games with helicopters.
Meh...I think the game looks good, but it was really made for consoles. It is not the "Crysis Killer" it was touted to be. I do think the wide open environment is a nice touch, but...whatever,,,I am waiting for GTA4 in Nov. for the pc.

You think GTA 4 will be any better for PC lol..
No, not "better", but I have been looking forward to it more than FC2. I saw some guys over at guru3d hunting for wild game off in the savannah. It looked pretty sweet.
If I can run it smoothly with 0.55GHz lesser than the minimum requirement for processing power. Yes that is in my Christmas List.
I'll have to admit, the driving is one part of this game that really is impressive, and not just the realism of running over the foes. The movement, sound and handling of the vehicles is spot on and the ability to swivel your head back and easily see behind you when doing those J turns is excellent. This is the best cockpit driving in any game I've played, including many race games I've owned.
You know that feeling of disorientation you get in Crysis when driving in cockpit view, that feeling like the vehicle has way too large a turning radius? Well I had that feeling at first in FC 2, esp with the narrower roads, but once I realized how much you could swivel your view I can now quickly and easily make J turns without the Austin Powers utility cart episode.
On the negative side though, the game is very arcadish, repetitive, and plays at 5 FPS less than Crysis does on my rig. Oh, and another thing that doesn't make sense to me, there's lots of motion blur when you sprint but none when barreling down the road full tilt in a vehicle. Personally I'd just turn it off completely if I could.
I was watching my friend play it last night, it looked vaguely entertaining. And honestly, the game didn't look amazing. I mean graphically, yes it did. But gameplay-wise, not really. Sure, you can light a field on fire. Then what do you do? Wait for it to go out and make sure what you're trying to kill is dead? Just go in there like a man and punch it to death.
I guess I'll have to try it myself to have a full opinion of it though.
You can do that in games even without vehicles. In Timeshift you can do it, same with Fallout 3 and Fable 2. Heck, even in World in Conflict, which is an RTS, you can do it!
