Solid SnakeYeah, I don't see how ANYONE could enjoy this game. Stick with Streets of LA if you want to play any True Crime game (GTA is a much better series, though). I find that Gamespot usually has the best reviews for games. All the other review sites and magazines also gave it a horrible rating. Almost as bad as 50 Cent's game was...

:wtf: This is one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played streets of la was alright but is just so terrible compared to new york city.

so what if it got rubbish reviews, all that matters is that you enjoy it and not to listen to every single review there wrong about their scores most of the time I dont really bother reading reviews.

That has nothing to do with this thread. ;) in answer to your question I have never played the PSP or DS but I think the DS is probably better.

There are some really annoying glitches. Sometimes when I try to enter a building the screen goes black like it's loading the inside, but I end up outside again and it does this with every door afterwords. So I have to save and load again. That seems to solve it. Until the next time it happens.

It sometimes freezes. It's only happened 3 times for the week I've had it, but it's still annoying.

To make your car go on two wheels you have to press left, left or right, right and A. But when you're going fast and turn but don't turn enough so you have to press left or right again fast you end up going onto two wheels and then you crash, running over a whole bunch of pedestrians.

It could be these things that make some reviewers think the game's ****e. But teh game's far, far deeper than TC1. For one, each crime has to be tackled differently with different weapons and strategies. A tazer and a gattling gun may work for a car chase, which resulted in a stand off between, say, 4 men with guns against you and 2 other cops over each other's cars, but for going into a brothel and wanting to capture the leader alive you'll need completely different weapons. You'll need something like the dart gun, two .50 handguns and maybe some flashbangs. The .50s for his men, the dart gun for the leader and the flashbangs incase you get pelted with fire from round a corner. Then you can open fire. And just going into anything with guns blazing will often get you killed. You need to think and you need to be on your toes at all times.

Also, the main missions, as I've probably said before, are far more interesting. For instance, I entered a record label's offices and got knocked out from behind. I wake up tied to a chair with this black (as in a black man) samurai talking to me and saying he's going to kill me. So he kicks the chair down, pulls out his sword and just as he's about to kill me, one of his men comes out and says there's something going on on the roof. Seeing as Marcus is tied to a chair, he says he'll be back and leaves, locking the door behind him. Marcus, of course, breaks free of the chair when everyone's gone and you have to find a way out of the room. I have no weapons on me so I can't shoot the door open. So then I go to the window and fly kick it open and walk along the edge of the 13th floor (I'm guessing it's the 13th floor) and round to a door that isn't locked. I walk in, with no weapons, and get shot to pieces. So I start the level again, annoyed because I don't have any guns. So then I look around and wonder if the gold disks on the wall can be knocked off. I go up to it and do a roundhouse to knock the disks off the walls. I pick on up and go round like I did before, but this time I throw the disk at the fat man. It doesn't, sadly, slice his head off, but it does daze him for a second or two, long enough for me to run at him, jump on him and punch him till he looses conciousness. I take his gun and kill anyone else I come across.

It's things like that that make me love this game. It's not the simple rubbish-ey missions the first one had and I'm thankful Luxoflux have given this much more thought than before.

Also, ram into someone else car and they'll go flying through their windshield.

Some more info.

There are only three different motorbikes. The GP one, a Harley Davidson-type one and a police bike. Shame you can't buy bikes and give them police and street upgrades. :( A sequel to this would be a great idea. If this one did well then they'll probably do another one. Although the GameCube version of the last game only just turned a profit for them. Hopefully the GC version sold well enough to warrant a Rev version so I can katana people to death.

I love this game so much I'll probably be playing some more off it tonight.

In True Crime you play a police officer in GTA you play a role off a criminal, True Crime has loads off cool things to do like solve crimes which I find alot more fun than being a criminal.

GTA also has lots of fun things to do like Break into houses and steal peoples items for money, a great story line but so does True Crime.

If you were going to choose between the two you should go for what you prefer playing as a cop or a criminal. GTA runs perfectly and never freezes, however True Crime New York has annoying glitches and sometimes freezes which is really annoying if your at the end of a mission and have to start again.

I prefer True Crime New York its great fun but GTA is also, personally I prefer this to GTA. If you prefer being a criminal in games go for GTA if you prefer playing a police officer go for True Crime New York.

So basically its kind off the same as GTA but you play a policeman.
