Rome TW is good, although it's not really one of the classical turn-based strategy titles.

I don't know what scenarios interest you, but the Panzer General series is great. I especially liked Pacific Admiral, but if you want a bit better graphics you should look for the latest Panzer General (3d scorched earth or however it's called).

Other good games would be Civilization 4 (modern game) or Colonization (old, but fun). Master of Orion II is also very addictive, don't get III as it's more difficult and less fun.

Oh, and the "combat mission" games are pretty good too.
