Kotaku - The Wii Vitality Sensor Seems...Nice - Wii Vitality Sensor

This defies logic. I just finished watching the nintendo presentation (I recorded it). This guy just comes onstage, talks about peace of mind while this thing floats around on screen. Then as suddenly and mysteriously as he appeared, he walked off stage. There really wasnt much of an explanation as to what this thing can be used for. I'm just...very confused. I havent watched Sony's press cover yet, but I still doubt they can beat Microsoft either. But Nintendo...ohhh boy Nintendo. You failed.

I expect good games. Not the milking of peripherals. They claimed to know how to do fun earlier in their presentation, but honestly? I think I'm ready for some new games. Not the same thing over and over again. But thats a different topic.

Mario Galaxy 2 and a new Metroid game. A sequel to my favorite platformer ever and more Metroid. And Co-op Mario.

It sounds like it could be used to measure stress levels via pulse rates, with the data then used to adjust game difficulty. That, or Nintendo just wants to see if we will pay them money to let us pinch our fingers.

This made me lol. I really think this will be just another gimmick, like the Wii Fit. If we're lucky there might be a bug in the system so folks get inflated stress level readings - then it's just a matter of time until a bunch of old people OD on anti-depressants.
