A friend of mine got Medieval TW when it came out and after sitting for about 2 hours and not seeing one battle (He was skipping them all) I got extremely bored and dismissed the game. So I never payed any attention to Rome or any of the expansions. But I just played the demo of Rome:TW BI, and absolutely loved it. I never saw this part of the game, the actual fighting, and it was brilliant. One of the first RTSs I've ever played that really requires anything more than massing of a particular unit.

How come these games have hardly any fanbase at all? They're awesome and I'll be buying Shogun I think, just because of it taking place in Japan.

They do have fan bases, but they are limited merely by the fact the online part of them are poor, which does not help the online community of it at all, although Rome:TW has a very large online following, mainly because of it's mods.
