Alien vs predator 2 when it first came out, the marine story was scary as hell! Also doom 3 was pretty freaky.
Yeah. Doom 3 didn't make me jump at all nor was it scary for me. But like you said Amerika, everyone is different. Where as me and you dont get scared from games or movies but people like AzH scare easily. (Not trying to degrade you Azh). Doom 3 sucked in terms fo scariness and making you jump. The game turned to be the same crap over and over after you go into that bathroom and you look in the mirror and the screen goes red and your guy appears zombified. FEAR wasnt scary. Wasnt disturbing. But it was a excellent game. I have never played Clive Barker's Undying, or Vampire: Masqeurade. But they sound like sweet games so I'll have to check them out. Half-Life 2, made me jump just because those black Headcrabs were freaky. They also look like spiders, and I HATE spiders. That's why they were freaky.
How about those blair witch games. i almost flew out of my seat when those zombies attacked me in the forest. Also in RTCW, the catacombs are pretty scary. Also the lopers scared me.
AzHDoom III. I downloaded the demo, played through until the bit where the lights go out and quit. I uninstalled the game. I get scared too easily.
Hmm. I don't usually play scary games. What gets me on edge, is when my health is low, and I am expecting some serious resistance. It gets worse when my ammo is low. It takes some time for me to realize how bad it is, and start to worry. Eventually I do start to expect some supplies, at the usual time/distance into the level. :runaway:
Such as when I was about to fight a boss in Zelda Ocarina of Time. I let my hearts, all 12 of them, get down to only 1 and a half. *gulp* :lookaround:
Recently, it was Soldier of Fortune 1. Playing on medium difficulty, I went into the first half of the game, without equiping anything. So I started each level off with only a knife. Weapons, and Armor PoA (Procured on Arrival). Eventually I almost ran out of ammo, and was expecting to encounter a whole heap of maniacs. That was tense. Usually SoF just disturbed me, and occasionally made me jump. Its become disturbing enough, that I've quit.
Both of those times I was lucky. In Zelda, I only lost half a heart (usually I loose). In SoF, I found Ammo, Health, and Armor shortly after.

Captain AmerikaQ4 scary? Idk about that, but we're all different. I get scared then get angry I was scared, so it never lasts for me. I'm hard on myself like that.
Like I said, it wasn't the game itself that bothered me but the concept it presented. If you don't find the idea of having your body sliced up and mutilated while being kept awake without anesthetic, and then losing control of your body completely to an external source scary, frankly I think you're lying ;).
It's possible to think about that happening, it's f*cked up for sure, but not scary. Honestly, I can't image what would scare me in a game, tactics imployed, etc, but I guess that's why it's scary, it's unknown. If you know it's coming, no big deal.
Did you make up the AzH quote? I thought he was a badass, not to be scared by D3.
ZeRoNiTeF.E.A.R, especially towards the end, and Silent Hill games. Condemned was pretty good to towards the end.
No! I'm Spamacus!

Aliens v. Predator 2 In the dark hearing scratching noises really had you at the edge of your seat. Never knew when an alien would dash across the ceiling and pounce on my head. However, the greatest scare I've ever received while playing a game was during an America's Army game. I literally fell out of my seat for some reason. All I remember was opening a door and then something surprising me. :uhm:

AzH lives on the internet, there's only so much 'bad-ass' to be found in such a person ;)
The same hallway in RE2 that has been mentioned got me, and the F.E.A.R. demo scared me shitless.
