My birthday is coming up, and dozens of people are asking me what I want for my birthday. Okay, not dozens, but too many have the same question to which I have no answer.
At Christmas, I would just say money. But now I really have no clue in what I want and I just don't say money on my birthday. My parents will probably find something good for me on their own since they tend to do that. But others still ask...I'm clueless.
I think a new game would be nice, but I don't know which one. I have all of the HL games, all COD games, and mainly just a PC.
I also have a spare eighty bucks that I had saved up for my video card, but I already got the card at Christmas as a present.
ok your birthday is coming up and you want our opinion on what you want. ok hmm... how about. the list of games i want. enemy terriroty quake wars, battlefield 2142, world in conflict. and thats all i can remember. i had a list but i forgot where i put it...
Spore. :) SPORE if that doesn't get released before your birthday, then perhaps Battlefront II.
Crysis if your pc can play it well or Company of heroes series
nanobot_swarm;4209431Bioshock, that's a no brainer
Yeah cuz your brains melted or were drilled o ut or something...
What kind of games do you like to play?
RTS? then i suggest any of these: Command and Conquer Tiberium Wars supreme Commander. Starcraft II (I think it's out but then again I only watched gameplay footage video about 3 months ago or so and im just here cuz of trek games)
FPS? from the part where you got hl/cod, i can guess.. Crysis if you can play. Bioshock if you dont have it (I guess that you do since you have a bioshock title as your avatar) What kind of FPS? Scifi-ish? or modern warfare? one of the Tom Clancy shooter games. Dunno if GRAW is on pc though. I don't even play any of these games. if it's older era type of FPS's, then Assassins Creed. I THINK it's out,. but not sure. should have been released when the console versions came out which was awhile ago but i vaguely recall someone saying it wasnt out. I recall HMV's pc game stand (very small stand grr) had AC on it. but I don't trust my memory enough to be certain on that case.
Is there anywhere your computer is lacking? is your disk space running out? if so, a new drive. i picked up a 320gb Sata-300 WD drive very cheaply. in USD, basically like $100, but i'm in england (£50) And the whole money thing (A shirt i like, is on sale here for £20. but its on sale for $20 in the US which is around £10, or rather £16 inc. international delivery charges... there abouts'.) i just dont get and its kinda different so i dunno how much you'd need to pay for a like-sized drive. is your card a 8-series NVidia or comparable ATI - i dont know the 'comparitive' stuff between the two companies' graphics card lines. if it's earlier and you wanna play crysis- save a little and buy em when they're cheaper. i know i'm not gonna try saving for a new computer anytime soon and i only just got myself a 7200gs-powered system. (Yes weak, but i didn't have much money. this is a £360 rig, complete system. to get so cheaply i had to scrimp and downgrade the planned spec abit. 7500 card was too much. at the time)
Now, if that doesn't confuse youi.... why not something for outside of the PC..
*looks around at the shocked people* what? *looks back at the guy* get a nice magazine subscription to a PC mag. I'm partial to Computer Shopper and 'Web User!' mags myself but i dont have the money to get a subscription grr. How about going on a night out with mates/your dad/whoever for a relaxing drink down your local pub? Or a meal with, if you have one, your girlfriend. Some Music, maybe. A new chair if your current one isn't that comfortable - which is going to be my next purchase, but will take awhile to afford that leather chair i'm eyeing up. A new desk. - i need one heh.
You know, it doesnt have to be software for your computer, or hardware for it. if you use mobiles a fair amount and yours is older than say, 8 months (any newer and this suggestion will be retracted) get a new one that's nicer and stuff... unless your on contract, inwhich case it should be free to upgrade to a new phone every year - it's that way with my mum and dad's.. grr, my phone is my dads old one and he's a construction worker so the phones got cracks and shid. grr.
Go watch a movie. National Treasure's out, then theres Cloverfield which some say is good but others dont like the whole handheld camera style.
get some dvd's of a movie/show you like. thats another im saving up for - trek and stargate dvds.
hope this helped - funny if it confused your more though hehehehe.
Well, ask if they get you a striper.
The only game to get is UT Game of the Year Edition Ghost Recon, BattlefrontII or Rainbow Six.
Wow. Lot of replies.
I had immediately thought of this as a "what game should I get" thing, but I can go for anything.
1. Specs: AMD Athlon XP 2400 2.0GHz Processor (Don't say "get a new processor", that would cost too much because of the new motherboard, it would get rid of my videocard, possibly require other new componants and practically call upon the rebuilding of my entire PC, which is pointless after how far I've come) Visiontek Radeon HD 2600 PRO 512MB AGP 8x video card (now you see why I don't want a new processor just yet) 2 GB of RAM 120 (or 140) GB Sata HD (all I need for now) 380 Watt PSU Windows XP
Videocard runs fine, except in strange cases. But I'm getting that kinked out in the tech forums. So...moving on.
The only RTS I have interest in (not an RTS fan) is Spore! Unfortunately, that's coming out in September. My birthday is in 11 days, I'll be turning 16 so I think going to a local pub to get a drink with my dad would be out of the question. He doesn't drink anyways.
No girlfriend, no wish for such a relationship right now, costs me too much trouble when I'm pursuing a career.
I do have Bioshock. Crysis is harder to run that it would seem with my PC, the processor holds me back too much. Maybe when I get my dad's PC, which has an AMD 64 3200, I'll get Crysis. That should run better.
Also to note other games I have: All the PC COD Games All the HL Games Both Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2, or well I'm getting 2 again, but this time on the PC, hopefully. Battlefront I and II Battlefield 2, 2142, Spec. Forces. Hardly play them though, only on a rampage or BF crave. Myst games, no more of those. But I could get URU. I would like F.E.A.R. Have to fix my PC first though to assure I'm not wasting my money.
I asked for some cool fan stuff from Valve, like the Portal shirt, Aperture Science cup, posters for Episode One and Two.
I have RS:Vegas. GRAW on PC would be nice. I like the demo, but I didn't really like the demo for GRAW 2. Tell me, if anyone can, does GRAW 2 have some more of the urban things seen in GRAW? Or is it gone in the 2nd?
I got a subscription to PC Gamer Magazine this past Christmas, which reminds me that I should start reading those. I have two months of gaming articles to catch up on. (By the way, I take serious interest in studying game media from all around the game globe, so I've heard of most of the stuff mentioned and information about 'em).
I think I would like Crysis. But when I've seen how good the graphics on a game can get, it's hard to lower those settings. It's just so hard for me. Far Cry 2 is coming out, maybe I can spend some of my money on that, pending how hard it gets to run it.
Thanks for the replies guys.
i have GRAW 2, and it's safe to say it's a fine game to play. If you don't mind the occasional retarding of your teammates (for me it happens). It's Urbanized if what you meant is, ruined buildings, industrial Locations and Desecrated streets. Well for some missions it is...
i'd recommend Black & White 2 (if you don't mind the extreme lack of Stages and are able to play the same stages over and over again.) since you like god-like gameplay a.k.a Spore. or Tiberium. The FPS version of C&C says it's coming out in "Q3 2008" whatever the devil that means... If i recall it lets you command squads etc.
and to alex mc: Assassin's creed is gonna be out FOR THE PC in april 06 if thats what you meant. (if you trust gamespot then trust this)
