In other words: What game did you look forward that actually turned out to be terrible?

For me, it has to be either Spider-Man 3 or Blacksite: Area 51.

Not sure which one I despise more to be honest.

Section 8: Prejudice. Pre-ordered it, loved the week I got to play it. Servers were literally ghost towns after that. One EU server up and active, with 8 people total playing.

Neverwinter Nights 2. I was looking forward to it SO much for SO long that I almost convinced myself it was good. Then I came back to reality.

Very closely followed by Jedi Outcast. Same deal.

I don't know what the most disappointing game was, but I can think of some pretty bad games I've played...

KotOR 1 and 2, Dragon Age: Origins, and Dragon Age 2.

The story for KotOR definitely wasn't the selling point for me, it being a Star Wars game was the selling point. Good thing I got them both for like $0.99 on Steam, because the gameplay in them was so utterly stupid, I couldn't keep playing them. And yes, I'm aware KotOR 2 was made by another developer, and shame on them for not making the gameplay less shitty! Also wtf was up with the bugs in that game?!

And next the Dragon Age series. It wasn't very original, I probably wouldn't have kept playing if Allistair and Morrigan were not in the game. I don't know what the hell Bioware was thinking, making the damn game play like an MMO. Do they find it attractive to sit there randomly pressing buttons as your character performs one of five attack animations over and over?

Dragon Age 2, oh look they improved the combat and made it look fun! But I guess that came with a cost, as the story was by far one of the worst in video game history.

I'll be honest, I've NEVER beaten a Bioware game, I attempted to beat Dragon Age: Origins FOUR TIMES. The gameplay just wouldn't allow me to.

Seriously, once they release Mass Effect 3 and pump DLC into it, they should just shut themselves down.

He was probably playing the 'I didn't realize what kind of game I was playing and I'm going to hold that against it because it's not a first person shooter' version.

:agreed

The type of game it is is in the description really. The bugs for KOTOR 2 was only for PC really.

FOr me one of them would have to be SPORE. When I first heard about it I almost jizzed in my pants, when I watched the trailer I did jizz in my pants. Instead I was met with this seemingly 'endless' and 'creative' game but it turns out that the game was piss easy; there wasn't enough angles in each of the stages, standard attack or make friends.

The creative side was nice at first but trying to make a unique creature on the 4th time playing it whilst still trying to keep decent stats on your creature got difficult. The buildings were GOD DAMN AWFUL; every town hall turned out to be a giant penis.

Umm, the PC version? You get into combat and then press your skills above the character to attack.

[QUOTE=Inyri Forge;5580626]He was probably playing the 'I didn't realize what kind of game I was playing and I'm going to hold that against it because it's not a first person shooter' version.

I'd like to note that I'm not a fan of FPS games, so what you said doesn't really make any sense. I was sort of hoping for control over my character in combat, not them standing there and me pressing buttons above their head. It's the pause and play BS I hate. Sorry, but I just find it incredibly dull to stand in combat not really having control over my character.

Also, I didn't read the description, I just saw them for $0.99 on Steam and thought 'What the hell?' I know there are a bunch of KotOR fanboys/girls on this forum who act like they've had a pole shoved up their butt when people talk down about the game. Games have flaws, KotOR isn't an exception.
