This has baffled me for a while. There are no records of Mario and Peach or Luigi and Daisy 'getting it on' in any Mario game. I know they are not Mario, Luigi, and Peach but babies, because then it wouldn't make sense how they can race against each other. I don't remember any time machines and time paraodoxes in any Mario game, either. :Puzzled:

mario kart isn't supposed to make sense in terrms of canonicity. it's just another playable characrter.

So... you're saying that the babies are Mario, Luigi, and Peach, but when they were babies? We all know that Baby Mario isn't nearly awesome enough to be Super Mario.

yes. i mean, if baby mario was mario's son, he'd be called mario jr, as shown by bowser jr.

Weren't there a few Baby Bowsers in some Mario Party game or something? And weren't they all working with the big cheese that is Bowser? :Puzzled:

They were not babies, they were the "Koopa Kids". Also, they did not have the "Bowser" name, but each had their own names, thus the "Jr." title was not needed, and would have been confusing.

However, Baby Mario, and Mario have the same name. Its either Mario, or Mario Jr.

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island featured Baby Mario, and Baby Luigi. These two were the baby versions of the Super Mario Bros.

AS mentioned, many of the themed Mario games, are not meant to be "canon". They are simply fun games with the more popular Nintendo Characters. The addition of "baby" characters is obviously for the female gamers, who think they are cute. Who better to add, than Baby Mario, who was born to fight Koopas, so driving race cars would not be much of a stretch.

I always thought the "baby" characters were for the female players, some sort of cutesy thing. As for their creation, I like Rednecks answer.
