A new sense of nuisance.

Discuss. (Dont have to discuss bout the specs and shit, Just discuss about who will own, Why or Why not)
Im forced to say that the Nintendo DS will own all
I voted Beats Me! however I do feel Nintendo dominates the handheld department. I bought a Game Boy back when they first came out, but never got into it like some people. My younger brother has a ton of games, and he doesn't even have to be in the car or going on a trip to be able to get into a hand held RPG game. To me staring at that small screen for hours is a bit much, but asoon as I picked up the newest Game Boy Advance SP and started playing Golden Sun, I couldn't put it down.
I have seen a new phone out that is also a portable game system. Its called the N-Gage QD. Some of the features are, Pre-Installed N-Gage Arena Launcher software for instant mobile gaming, games like Splinter Cell Team Stealth Action (2 players), The Sims Bustin'Out (2 players), Ashen (4players) etc. I don't know about you, but cell phone costs are expensive just making a call. Imagine playing a game for acouple hours.
Its really hard to tell whos going to hold the market for the hand helds. Nintendo is smart and has been strong, but other companies (including Sony) are now coming into the market for some of that coin. Tough call.
The cream of the crop

well the Sony handheld will play movies and have tons of the old PS1 games on it. but nintendo has a name for it self. i dont know. i agree with teh gizmo, tough call.
i say psp because i personaly think the whole touch screen thing on the ds could b very anoying continualy changing ur hands to use the touch screen then the buttons on the side not only that but i think there are goin to b alot more games that people already know of like metal gear solid, dynasty warriors, grand torismo, and also rumored to have grand theft auto come out for the psp.

Most games that use the Touch Screen (Wario Ware, Metroid Prime) don't even make use of the other buttons. Other games like Animal Crossing just use the Touch Screen to talk and stuff, so there won't be any fast paced switching from Touch Screen to the buttons. Metal Gear Solid (Although a very familiar game) will be totally different. It's no longer a stealth/action game, it's a tactics game. Dynasty Warriors will also be on the DS, and Gran Turismo will lag. Speaking of familiar titles, have you seen Nintendo's first party line-up? Not too mention they have more third party support then the PSP. Oh, by the way, I chose the DS.
psp, you don't have to concentrate on two screens, it'll have better sound/video quality
Col. Homer - Wow...you know they're both the same in sound, right? And why would you listen to a portable in the first place? I don't freakin' blast out my SP wherever I go, I never have sound on that thing. Plus, you don't look at both at the same time. Who the hell can do that and have complete focus? Noone. You switch, da-da-derf!
Scuba - Entirely true. No single game has a continuous switch. Warioware is great because all you need is the stylus! That's just great!
AegenemmnoN - Correct you are. The Sony PSP has the ability to watch movies and listen to music. Problem is, why? The battery life is a huge minus because watching Spider-Man 2 without the charger on is, well, impossible. And noone besides Sony Pictures has signed on for that features. I don't want to watch movies on a 4" screen, anyway. ...Neither listen to music. iPod for that!
My thoughts completely?
The Nintendo DS :: This is the most innovative thing I've ever seen, yet I honestly wouldn't really buy it for that. I want it mainly because of those games, but still I have faith. Nintendo knows that they completely own the handheld market and they still have the Normal Game Boy series to back this up, so it really is a "third pillar" in their business. So, hell, if this fails, they can always go back to the normal Game Boy. Either way, they can't lose.
The Sony PSP :: Sleek? Yes. Sexy? Hell Yes. Games? ...er.... See, the problem with this is that we've "heard" of these games. None of them are actually playable or seen running yet. The PSP has yet to be shown what it can do without computers assisting (A few days ago, Sony showed the actual PSP running in Japan. But with no game in it. Silly Bastards) Still, you will look like the coolest kid ever with this thing AND the music and movie features is nice (Though I highly doubt I'd use either) and I like the fact that they announced Viewtiful Joe and Devil May Cry. You may have seen GT4 running, but this will lag. Tons. You may have seen MGS. But that game is gonna suck big time. Use a card for going against a wall? Dynasty Warriors is a nice game for on the go, but I need more, more!
Both of these can go online and play online games which is nice, but if I had to pick one, I couldn't tell you. I'll buy both I think.
Oh, yeah - gizmo - the N-Gage has failed miserabely and has yet to surpass 20 games in a year. Sad? I laugh.
I voted the nintendo DS because nintendo has a history of making good handhelds. I also think that the PSP's price will hold it back.
I think the psp will win, but i think mobile gaming is pointless, i can get better graphics on a ps1, and they cost half the price.
