i mean its a product of the U.S. Military, makes you go through usless training before you play, and some servers make u do the other training before you can play. i just gave up, it bored me to death. games like counter-strike, day of defeat, and unreal tournement are much better. why does everyone like AA?

The training doesn't take that long. Only a couple of minutes alone for basic training. The game is free, who can complain about that? Besides, not everyone likes unrealistic games. While this is nothing like Operation Flashpoint, you certainly don't see everyone going rambo with their 100 round magazine - fed M16A99...

100 round magazine, i am preaty sure that no game has a magazine with 100 rounds, cs has 30.

My point was that most FPS these days seem to focus more on the instant gratification of the primal lust for the kill, or numerous "frags", and less on depth, or the concept of teamwork beyond the basic shoot anyone in blue, ignore those people on your red team.
you cant say that in AA there arnt people that rambo and go in solo, they are nown as pub nubs and stuff like that, real players that actualy know the game now how to play and never peak around corners and never rush in solo.
Well a great reason is it's free :naughty:, and it has a very good realism to it (graphics r decent too), you must train to become a sniper and a medic and so on. but what i don't like is the test stuff, i just got answers for them from a friend , im not goin to be recruited by a simple game, so i shut off my speakers when they lectured all that junk.:smokin:
So whys everyone like AA? cause it's by teh US Army. thats almost gaurenteed realism which most gamers prefer. if America's Army was free and by sume otehr company i never heard of i wohulda never downloaded it.
ne who, i see plenty of fragging in servers i play in (especialyl that granade launcher mod to the ak and m16 and plan ol nades which i hate  clip size of a selectable weapon in a game don't make the game ne less real or nooby (like WW2 games with the PPSH, 71 rounds, and i beleive we forgot the SAW in AA has 100 or so too! thats alot, if u don't like it, make a mod to change it to say, 30)
I didn't make it!
Free was/is not a reason. Training and testing in any profession develops resolve and discipline. Without either you will fail. To he stating he hated those elements, good ridence as you are one less competitor I have to deal with on a server. The preonline requirements make you a better starting player. There's not much pleasure being mere cannon fodder. I've played many FPS SPs but this is my first MP and were it not for a pitiful ping in many cases, I'd have more of you than my points currently indicate. Considering the number of worldwide professional soldiers playing this game who indeed have better connections than I, it's not a wonder why I'm handed my head so often. So with that considered I resort in most instances to attempt to outfox the fox. I'm either the first to go or the last line of defence, more often than not. That didn't seem to matter to the W 008 server the other day who booted me for being the last so often - quess they wanted to go get themselves killed again sooner. When that E6 Chevron shows up on my HUD, I generally realize most of my squads have f'd it and not being sucidal, I've no choice. Of course now should I win, everyone benefits with extras points not that anyone ever gives a thank you for that. So it's the cat 'n mouse thingy of it all. And when you get their last man who has 4x your honors, maybe you'll undestand.
"So it's the cat 'n mouse thingy of it all. And when you get their last man who has 4x your honors, maybe you'll undestand." i can tell by your english you serve in the army and i respect that. but i think u only go to servers with otehr men and women who serve in the army (or navy), although u are limited by ur connection, trying other servers you'll see it's much diffrent (i think) it's frag fest out there, and using the ledges of everyting, thats not skill, thats knowing the map well. i have what 9 honor (yeah i didn't realize u lost honor till now) and i easily snipe people of 80+ honor, so i may under stand what ur saying although i don't... i never said the basic training was bad! (actually i wish the basic training was a lil more extensive, teaching u what L and H do and how to lean and so forth) i meant the testing thing should be optional (although u must remember it's a recruit ment tool so i dunno) i guess everyone likes it cause it's a good game (reading the reviews for it it gota 8 outta 10, not bad!) one thing i don't like is the contorls, i wanna reprogram them to like COD controls (i play that one alot) if u could change the controls this game whould rock
You haven't really played Counter-Strike properly or you're a 1 weapon person, the M249 SAW (Machine Gun) is either a magazine capacity of 100 or 200 rounds. In the Army you don't have an option to do training, in a game which nearly exactly based on the life in the Army, in real life, you cannot survive 17 shots from an M4 or AK or whatever other weapon, if you did you would probably die of blood loss (which you can do in AA). If everyone plays unrealistic games then there is no point in buying others, because they all would be the same. Its like Medal of Honor, same game, nearly the same storyline, just a few different ingame effects, because the graphics on MoH haven't changed a lot since its first release lol. You do get people who kill a lot of the other side, but most of the time it doesn't always end like that, they're bound to die sooner or later. The training is there for a reason, since everyone who has started playing AA recently has used a training hack then they have no idea, they attack friendly players, they ask questions like "how do I switch to a Grenade?" which the "US Weapons" training level is based on, it tells you what "H" does because you fire the 203 a few times. You can change your controls, my controls are set as the SWAT 4 layout, because I played SWAT 4 for a long long time I kept on trying to open doors with F and then it going through the whole Fix Weapon process and trying to lean by pressing Q or E and end up dying because of it. So I thought I might as well have all games using the same control layout to prevent the problems I had before. Its a good game because its realistic, its accurate and its fun. On Counter-Strike, there are three groups, noobs, campers and hackers. I admit, some people on AA camp and some are noobs, but they camp for a reason, if you're the last person on your team and it is your objective, you're going to take your time and wait for the enemy or slowly proceed to the objective stopping now and again to secure the area around you so you actually survive. If you die you let yourself and the rest of your team down because you receive points for winning and killing, for killing someone in CSS, you would probably get some sort of insult or threat, do you prefer that? I prefer to play for something, even if it is some virtual points to gain a bit of honor which doesn't really mean anything, but its better than playing the Warcraft mod for Counter-Strike by far.
well said slayer, u read me like a book, all i use is a sniper, im a one wepon person, sniper or im lost, (sumtimes i follow snipers and "cover them" till they die so i can get my hands on a sniper sincec i only got 9 honor and didn't finish that escape and evade training thing. and i do have the like old old CS from HL btu i never played it online before, especially since everyone ahcks in it (i like AA cause pb keeps alot of cheats out i think)
