This is basicly like the why do you play rpgs thread; why do you play MMORPGs? I play world of warcraft because I like interacting with real people. :Pc:
I'm way cooler than n0e (who isn't though?)

Petitioned to have this moved to General Gaming.
You're interacting with real people... to an extent. I loved the social aspect of the game, but found it to be more of a chore than anything, hence why I left WoW.
Gave Eve Online trial a go some time in the past, absolutely loved it, just never bothered to go out and purchase it.
Been playing the Lord of the Rings Online trial as of late, and while it is ok I've barely seen any players even in normally active areas, that and it doesn't really capture the spirit of the books/movies to me. The environments look fantastic, but I always felt somewhat detached.
Now Warhammer Online... played the Beta and plan to pick it up after my exams finish. I love the public questing system and the way you can interact with other players, especially through the keep and PvP tier system.
To answer the question (:p) I play MMOs because it allows me to interact with a vast multitude of people and see the community grow as a whole, and I enjoy being a part of that development. While not as deep as a singleplayer RPG, the teamwork and role that can be played is pretty dam fun.
