Simply put guys the PS3 blows because 1. Sony hyped it up but held it back too long, only to finally release it but in a ridiculously low quantity 2. Sony lost Square Enix, I'm sure you all know, they made the best stuff for sony, all the FF games and such, they went over to microsoft so all the cool crap is gonna be on the 360 3. Sony is literally getting raped by lawsuit after lawsuit, now they are being sued and have been told to recall and destroy all products with a certain companie's tech in it, so all the PS3's unless sony pays up, buh bye 4. Resistance fall of man, only game currently out that sells the console 5. the Fucking 600 dollar price tag, and sony won't kick us a 15 dollar USB cable WTF? we paid 600 and they won't include a freakin 15 dollar cable in the box o__0 6. Sony wasted time with the blueray, no one wants a playstation or a gaming console for DVD playing abilities they want it for a freakin awsome gaming experiance, if sony just went with making it a great game console and not a great movie player too, it would have been a less expensive price tag for us and more people would have bought it I don't know what else to say, oh, Sony has for some reason been losing it, cranking out defective technology too, like the supposed "camera of doom" I call it, so literally sony has probably lost an outragous amount of money, I would say to not even bother buying the PS3, in fact I don't even believe sony will be able to be a contender in the gaming world for a looong time to come if not at all
WickedVestige;3847234$500 for a blu-ray? I find that hard to believe because one of the things going for the PS3 is that it is a cheap alternative for a blu-ray player.
cheap alternative? the freakin thing is $600 plus!!! I would rather just buy a blue ray player if I got to have one lol I don't really need blue ray though, I think anyone buying a game console is buying it for games not movies, thats what DVD players are for lol, once again had sony just made it a wickedly awsome game console and scrapped the blue ray idea it probably would have been a cheaper console, therefore more people would have bought it
The price really seems to be a stickler for some of you knobs out there. I was a little worried about spending $700+ CDN on it, but then I realised I could trade in my PS2 and all the old PS2 games I know I would never play again to cut some of the cost. I ended up getting my console and a game for $600 even. The fact it has blu-ray is only a plus, not a hindrance, its a move that secures PS3's future beyond the normal DVD-realm. Kojima has stated that the blu-ray is clutch to MGS4, which is apparently filling up a 50gb disk rather quickly.
Isaac2pointOI don't know what else to say, oh, Sony has for some reason been losing it, cranking out defective technology too, like the supposed "camera of doom" I call it
Now one cannot say that without relenting a little on PS3's colleagues. Just look at the 360, damn thing has a 30% fail rate. I don't know about you, but I know a little about marketing and thats a good 20-25% higher than any company in any industry would want to have. Shelling out a few $ billion to extend warranties is a horrible move to make, though it will ensure customer appreciation, its money any company (aside from the horrendously rich and evil Microsoft, with its shoddy PC products) would be hard-pressed to part with.
What people fail to realise about the PS3 is that the ammount of technology in the machine on its own would equal up to a £2000 pc i mean the Blu-Ray on its own is £400 and the PS3 is £425 or was when it came out now, for an extra £25 they throw in cables HD capability, a graphics card, a processor and internet connection!
And to the people goin I don't want a Blu Ray because i dont buy Blu Ray Movies, well the blu ray is also used for Games as well not just movies the Blu Ray make it possible to have games as huge as possible.
And im not a fan boy i don't even own a PS3 because i can't afford it, but still for whats in that machine its a bloody good deal. all that needs to happen is for it to get some decent games and it will like the PS2 become probably the best gaming console out to date.
Xbox won't beat it but you have to compare the Playstation series has been around since the 90's where as Xbox in comparison is new and is testing new stuff out, in time the Xbox may become as good but it needs to develop first.
lol watch the Wii beat the PS3
Whatever. Nintendo will sell a shiat load of Wii's to people who will ultimately own less than 6 games for it. and will LOSE yet again in the console war, just like theyve done for every platform since the SNES.
6 games, that's more than the Ps3.
Somehow, I don't see how a console selling the most units equates to it losing. The Ps3 is most likely to lose, if it hasn't already.
since the SNES?? your joking right?? the N64 totally owned the PS1 better games and better graphics, and nintendo isnt exactly in the console war anymore but the Wii is probably the best console out of them all its cheapest and its provides more entertainment and since your physically doing something the games will have a longer lifespan than either the PS3's or the Xbox.

Stop talking. Your already completely wrong and its so wrong its making me physically ill. The N64 resulted the the Playstation becoming the single most bought console EVER, next to the PS2. The N64 was panned by a wide range of publications simply because of its terrible game development. The N64 went down in history as the console that had 5 games worth buying. Legend of Zelda OoT. Goldeneye, Mario 64, Smash bros. and Conkers bad fur day.
Graphically, the N64 was capable of slightly better performance if the game was low texture count and heavy on primary color usage. Add more textures? you get bloody shiat looking games. Thats why the N64 did well with Nintendos IP games and poorly with everyone elses.
No what other device made people move about when playing games? the original gamepad for the NES. Remember how many games they made for that? yeah, not many. 2 years from now, the Wii's lineup is going to be heavy on 2 things. Intellectual property owned by Nintendo (mario, zelda etc.) and party-esqu games (think mario party 48...). The Wii's functionality will not allow easy cross platform game design and not many 3rd party designers are willing to be Nintendo exclusive just to sell hard to code games to a small segment of the gaming population.
Nintendo of course knows this, which is why they have relied on their intellectual property since day one. they know 3rd party designers arent going to flock to the console.

Perhaps move to the console forums where this belongs? Oh well. Please stop comparing the Wii to the likes of the 360 and PS3. The Wii is mainly used for a completely different style of gaming, that being casual. Sure it doesn't have great graphics and some of the latest titles don't look to good, but the Wii was primarily built for the casual gaming style, and those games that coincide with that style are doing extremely well. On the otherhand, the PS3 and 360 are meant to be capable of high definition gaming brilliance with high-tech hardware, which is part of what contributes to the price. In the end, sure, all three consoles are in the 7th Generation of Gaming Consoles, or "next gen consoles", but the Wii cannot be compared to the likes of the 360 and PS3.
